Donald Trump says he's not blaming George W. Bush for 9/11, but he claims that if he'd been president, the attacks never would have happened.
In an appearance on "Fox News Sunday," the real estate mogul said that since he's "extremely, extremely tough on immigration" the attackers wouldn't have been in position to commandeer U.S. flights.
"So there's a good chance that those people would not have been in our country," Trump said.
He took another shot at Jeb Bush for claiming that Bush's brother, the 43rd president, kept the nation safe.
"I'm not blaming George Bush," Trump said. "But I don't want Jeb Bush to say, 'My brother kept us safe,' because September 11 was one of the worst days in the history of this country."

I’m not criticizing Trump.
He is not only talking about the border. Has he not said over and over again that the entire system is not so much as broken but instead just not enforced? Please acknowledge the reality that he is far more faceted than the media want to make him out to be.
I am a Cruz supporter still but I do relish the fact that Trump can shape the template all by himself. by saying “controversial” things, he immediately gets all the press he can get and the press just can’t refuse the bright shiny objects.
Just maybe Trump still remembers that one of towers was bombed BEFORE 9/11 and would have acted after that to make sure it would never happen again.

Negative. only one was on a student visa which was voided since he never attended a class. Others were here on 6-month "tourist visas". Why the hell is there even such a thing. Regardless…. I find it implausible that if he were President in 2000 instead of Bush 43, Trump would have put into place a plan to find and deport every single person here on an expired Visa, let alone have this plan designed and implemented in eight months.
Trump was saying that if his policies had been in place, these people would not have been here. He didn't say that he would have prevented 9/11 if he had been elected in 2000.
