Donald Trump: I would have prevented 9/11
CNN ^ | 10/18/15 | Eric Bradner

Posted on 10/18/2015 8:46:12 AM PDT by jimbo123

Donald Trump says he's not blaming George W. Bush for 9/11, but he claims that if he'd been president, the attacks never would have happened.

In an appearance on "Fox News Sunday," the real estate mogul said that since he's "extremely, extremely tough on immigration" the attackers wouldn't have been in position to commandeer U.S. flights.

"So there's a good chance that those people would not have been in our country," Trump said.

He took another shot at Jeb Bush for claiming that Bush's brother, the 43rd president, kept the nation safe.

"I'm not blaming George Bush," Trump said. "But I don't want Jeb Bush to say, 'My brother kept us safe,' because September 11 was one of the worst days in the history of this country."

Bush did not Clean house.
He decided the new tone crap which was code for letting Clinistas in there federal jobs and leave the borders wide open so Saudi terrorists could come and go into the US with ease . on
Then the Bushes sucked up to Cair a Hamas-PLO front group due to pc .
Then after thousands were killed by Illegals aliens the Devious Rove trues to ram thru amnesty for the Rich donors .
Bush was a misguided mess and shares blame for the attack .

So you say that crazy Trump is in it for his own aggrandizement. Noting that he is self funded except for small donations (up to $50) from individual citizens; he is answerable only to the people who elect him. Now, just who are these other candidates, who are not self funded, glorifying. The donor class? Who are they in it for, the people or the millions of dollars tossed their way, to further the agenda of this class against the wishes of the angry and disgusted people. Money which they get to keep if they do not spend it? And the promise of even greater riches if they do win

Tell me, are you and your fellows paid by the GOPe to come here and write your idiotic factless drivel hoping to poison the well? Do you thing that we are democrats that can be manipulated emotionally by baseless negative attacks and insulted into going along with with the status quo? Check your facts, Donald Trump has published the detailed position papers, and states more will be forthcoming.

I posted this on a similar thread:

I'm constantly amazed and disappointed at the mindset I see...that blame or responsibility need be assigned to one actor, and all others involved were passive, blameless meat puppets.

Al Qaeda flew the planes into the buildings. W didn't. The House of Saud was/is funding terrorist groups.

BJ was more worried about under desk action than responding to the first WTC bombing, which was treated as...a law enforcement issue. While his Justice Dept was enforcing "the wall" between foreign activity and domestic "law enforcement."

W's administration wasn't up and running. This is primarily because Tom Daschle was playing politics with nominees.

W sat in the oval office. It happened on his watch. He chose as his priority his "new tone," being "a uniter, not a divider."

Leadership...would Trump be sitting quietly in the Oval Office, preserving the "new tone," or would he have been lighting a fire under Daschle's @ss? Would priorities and plans happened PDQ? Would Trump be spouting ROP nonsense? A hint...the Twin Towers were a New York landmark.

No one should be held responsible for that which they do not control, but should be for that which they can...whether or not they choose to do so.

i suspect that nobody even looked for them at all. If the government tried to enforce the law and failed, that is one thing. If they do not even try looking for violators they will never find them, that is a certainty.

If he does HALF of what he says he will do, I will be happy. And we have no idea how many sleeper terrorists have come over the border. Personally, I think we should not have any Arabs allowed in this country.

Thousands of Americans are dead because George W. Bush decreased border and interior enforcement AFTER 9/11.

The Joyful Tippy-toes Disrupter Tortoise is lying, he did not keep us safe.

"And like the other poster stated, it was under Bush the Boston Marathon terrorist entered the U.S."

Yes, in 2002, and there was no evidence at the time that anyone in the family posed a security threat. The bombers' radicalization was said to have begun about 2009, and the FBI was notified of the bombers' potential radical sympathies in 2011, well after Bush left office. The FBI investigated, and found nothing that would justify an arrest. The bombers were radicalized during the Obama administration, and the bombing occurred in 2013, FIVE YEARS after Bush left office.

It get's worse for Yeb! The idiot who should not be playing these games against Trump. Trump already knows the answers. Bush did have specifics intel on some of them.

Read this:
- - - -

" The CIA had quite a bit of information about two of the hijackers and their presence in the United States before 9/11" ...

"An investigation by the CIA inspector general -- published in unclassified form in 2007 -- found that this was not the oversight of a couple of agency employees but rather that a large number of CIA officers and analysts had dropped the ball. Some 50 to 60 agency employees read cables about the two al Qaeda suspects without taking any action. "

And here's the CIA IG states the obvious conclusion:

"The CIA inspector general's report concluded that "informing the FBI and good operational follow-through by CIA and FBI might have resulted in surveillance of both al-Mihdhar and al-Hazmi. Surveillance, in turn, would have had the potential to yield information on flight training, financing, and links to others who were complicit in the 9/11 attacks."

It's a dereliction of duty in light of these CIA reports to Bush:

- - -

“Here is a representative sampling of the CIA threat reporting that was distributed to Bush administration officials during the spring and summer of 2001:

— CIA, “Bin Ladin Planning Multiple Operations,” April 20
— CIA, “Bin Ladin Attacks May Be Imminent,” June 23
— CIA, “Planning for Bin Ladin Attacks Continues, Despite Delays,” July 2
— CIA, “Threat of Impending al Qaeda Attack to Continue Indefinitely,” August 3

The failure to respond adequately to these warnings was a policy failure by the Bush administration, not an intelligence failure by the U.S. intelligence community. Federal judges at odds over NSA data collection “

http://www.cnn.com/2013/12/30/opinion/bergen-nsa-surveillance-september-11/

- - - -

I'd say both failed. Bush failed and the intelligence community failed.

An EXCELLENT argument! The Chamber of Commerce has elbowed it’s will upon all of us AND the US government to set this pattern for open borders and virtually NO border law enforcement. They carry no small part of blame for 911, and all the other escalating slippery attacks perpetrated on our soil for 25 years.

They have accomplished their goals with purpose, out loud, and in full view of the country. But, until Trump, there was absolutely no force strong enough to make the case to STOP it.

Now we’re in a position to cut the legs out from under these nefarious boosters for business, at the price of lives (remember Kate), to build the wall, to empower border patrol, to ENFORCE the dang laws on the books, which worked perfectly since WW II forward, until they didn’t..

God help us.

When were thousands of Americans killed AFTER 9/11?

You say that the cost of going after illegals would dwarf Obamacare. But how much of the cost of ObamaCare/medical care is created by illegals? Since, many hospitals have been bankrupted by illegals, the cost is clearly huge. So it is not worth spending whatever money is necessary once? Why not spend this what you say is going to be a huge amount of money and reverse, and end this invasion. Let's end ever increasing burden on the taxpayer, and to begin to make medical care accessible and affordable for the citizens of this country who are already paying for unaffordable and often inaccessible medical care.

It's a wild goose chase. It costs the cable company $100 to send someone to a home. Most tourists stay at hotels. La migra currently focuses on workplace raids, because they're a target-rich environment. Trying to locate individuals is a lot like trying to find your long lost relative using a PI, only more difficult. Because your relative probably isn't living off the grid actively trying to avoid being found.

Given the same circumstances that faced Bush, it is doubtful that Trump's new immigration policies, given the House and senate that Bush had when he was elected in 2000, would have removed the 911 actors.

It is true that Trumps immigration p9olicy would (and back then would have) begun making a difference...but that would have taken time and changing the nature of the House and senate.

Given the situation that Bush inherited on talking office, it is unlikely that he or Trump, or anyone else would have stopped them in that environment that existed at that time.

Someone like Trump would have had to have been in office 2-4 years earlier, and had a congress going along with them. But we had Clinton for eight years before...and he was not serious about the WOT...and that is what Bush inherited, and what Trump would have inherited had he been elected back then.

No...it is not.

Trump would have inherited the same immigration conditions that Bush did. The same House and Senate that Bush got. Trump would have inherited the same neglect on and fight against Islamic Terrorism that Bush inherited, left over from the Clinton years..

Those things do not change overnight, and besides, many of the 911 attackers had been here on legal student visas.

It is very, very unlikely...probably impossible... that Trumps plans, as good as they may be, would have made any difference in that time frame quickly enough to have stopped them.

Illegal aliens have killed thousands all over this country.
We have had 6 fatalities just from drunk driving illegal aliens locally and more people murdered by them. That’s not safe.
