The incredible armories in the US are not junk nor trash so this is not happening.

She is saying exactly what the gun owners have always said about gun registration, it will lead to confiscation.
Canada is a bad example, they recently scrapped their long gun registry because no one registered. Non-compliance on a massive scale got them to back down.
I'm glad that these POS Communist filth are actually running as POS Communist filth, instead of this "New Democrat" or "sensible, common-sense" moderate Democrats and such.

The stated intention of cash for clunkers was to remove old, polluting cars from the roads and replace them with new, more energy efficient cars. The actual intention was to do away with the cheap used car to force kids to take the bus. This is clearly demonstrated by the requirement that the car not only be crushed, but the engine had to be ruined as well. No part could be reused.
In actuality the program moved forward demand and caused much hardship on the part of auto manufacturers, one of the intended beneficiaries, by giving them some very bad sales months after the program ended. IN addition the replacement cars were, on average, much less efficient as people bought mostly trucks and SUV’s. The other initial effect was to eliminate the cheap used car market. But here we are several years later and used cars are cheaper in real terms than any time since the 1970’s. The program was a massive failure by any measure.
So, go ahead and do the same for guns. I could use a few upgrades.

First of all three countries do not have the Second Amendment. If some one wants to turn in their gun say for $100,000 that is their choice. Heck I’ll buy one on the street from a DEA agent and sell it back to Uncle Sam.
Oh ask Australia is doing now without guns in the hands of citizen? Not so good.
This is what a disarmed American population will look like, and this is what will happen to them.

No, the program destroyed value and cost the taxpayers a bundle to do so. Greatly decreased the supply of used cars.

On the last day of the deadline to personally turn in banned guns to “authorities” in Australia, hundreds stood in line in a thunderstorm and pouring rain to surrender them.
I can’t see that happening here. The War for Independence started here when the soldiers of the Crown came to collect the colonists’ guns at Lexington. That and still is because an armed citizenry is a free citizenry.
If Hitlary feels that way about guns she should tell her security detail to throw their guns out and carry oranges instead
