STEPHANIE RUHLE, host: In order to be the president of the United States, you have to be a leader. We have not seen your soft hand. We have seen your offense, but George Bush had to stand in front of America after 9/11, Barack Obama did after Sandy Hook. Help us understand who Donald Trump is as a man. I need to know that you will make us feel a safe and you will make us feel proud.
TRUMP: I think I have a bigger heart than all of them. I think Im much more competent than all of them. When you talk about George BushI mean, say what you want, the World Trade Center came down during his time.
RUHLE: Hold on. You cant blame George Bush for that.
TRUMP: He was president, OK. Blame him or dont blame him, but he was president. The World Trade Center came down during his reign.

Doesn’t bother me. There is clearly some anti-Bush stuff going on, but I think a President Trump would have not only done the same thing Bush did in Afghanistan, I think-—despite what he now says-—given the overwhelming evidence at the time he would have done the same exact thing in Iraq, too. Criticism for taking the safest policy is a luxury the top guy doesn’t have, as Trump will soon discover.
It is these kind of careless comments by Trump that worry me. “Bush’s `reign’”? Is that a Freudian slip, or is he just talking like a Democrat? Is that how he perceives the Presidency? I really respect that he is talking about issues that need talking about, but from day 1, I have worried about his temperament. And comments like these reinforce those worries. I really want to be enthusiastic about him, but I am certainly not there yet.
Trump doesn’t care about dead New Yorkers.
Trump wants to build the Ground Zero Mosque.
Trump hates nice tall buildings.
Trump hates women wearing whatever they want.
I don’t think the comment was necessary.
Oh yes, raise any issue about "the Donald's" past (recent) liberalism and support of Democrats and you'll be hit by the Trumpster mob as being a Jeb supporting GOPe RINO. No matter that you could obviously be supporting Cruz, your still a GOPe RINO Jeb lover. The Trumpster brigades are almost as bad as the paulbots of last cycle.
It's quite sad to watch because you expect this sort of thing from the left - from Sander's followers this time around or the Obama drones in 2008. One thing is clear, many on the right are really more populist protectionist than conservative. And just like many on the left, too many on the right seem to be supporting the politician more than his policies - almost to the point that it doesn't matter what Trump says at all. The man has a very liberal record from policy positions to leftists he has supported, and Trumpsters seem unwilling to cast a critical eye at that pisspoor record.
Trump is NOT a conservative. Trump is not grounded in conservative thought or ideology. And if elected President, it's a pretty good bet that he won't govern as a conservative either.
I agree, but again, there is something going on there with the Bushes. Given how much Perot hated them, I’m starting to wonder what they did to people. Both GHWB and W seem like entirely decent people. Don’t care for yeb.
The Bushes (Nafta & 911) the Clintons (repealing glass-steagle), Carter (economic malayse) Obama (no example required) have caused massive damage to America.
Oh i fogot Nixon (unpegging the dollar from gold standard)
“There is nothing unusual about a Director of Security for a high-rise office tower conducting evacuation drills.
Its part of his job. All schools and public buildings have evacuation drills.
Sheesh.”
When you come out with that, I can tell you did not look him up. He was concerned about an attack from the air. Also, no one else was doing the evacuation drills. In fact, everyone was told to remain in place when it happened.
Sheesh.
Answer: W Bush, “my sister in-law.” “
Pathetic! By the way, coincidentally my mom and I were just talking earlier about this very topic! We were talking how we actually campaign for GW and contribute $$. Hm the heck with their BS dynasty! I hope Jeb goes down hard that it leaves a mark as turn-coats siding up with the Clintons and rubbing it in our faces! Tin foil moment, but also believe old Jeb was chosen to make a pathway for a sure Hildabeast win. I hope I don't sound bitter but I would love nothing more than a Trump/CRUZ win over the GOPe back-stabbers!
I thought that was odd too, and I'm wondering if he was really thinking Hurricane Sandy. People are still suffering 3 years later from the destruction.
I was unaware if the would be candidate from NYC’s political favorites
He thinks he’s sovereign ROYALTY while being a RUBE
what a surprise.
Freegards

No problem. Just a senior moment.
Ill let you GUESS his intent..the simple fact that one of his OPPONENTS shares the same LAST NAME...as President Bush..is MEANINGLESS IS IT???
lets not let this HERO WORSHIP blind us to this mans CRUDE BEHAVIOR
its simply the height of arrogance...nothing more and certainly Nothing Less!
Freegards

REIGN indeed
I strongly suspect that these “faux paws”...will play a large part of his undoing
“He shoots from the lip with no thought of consequences.”
JUST what America Needs ..what TACT ...what maturity..what a loose cannon
I’ll bet if another 9/11 happens on Trump’s watch he’ll accept the blame for it. When you’re commander in chief it’s your responsibility. And no I’m not blaming Bush for 9/11. I said that earlier that he was only in office less than 9 months.
