An ex-Boy Scout leader has been sentenced to prison for possessing child pornography.
Gerrett Conover, 50, of Gloucester County has received a sentence of 20 years in prison and a lifetime of supervised release for the online distribution of pornographic material involving minors.
Following a fivemonth investigation, Conover was arrested in September 2012 after he was stopped attempting to enter the United States from Canada. He was found to be in possession of a computer containing more than 50 images of child pornography, most of which graphically depicted sexual acts involving young boys.

Recently I turned down a Boy Scout looking for support for his Eagle Scout project. I was nice about it but explained the BSA is going down the same road as the Girl Scouts. The next time the Catholic Charity ladies come around they will get the same response.

I laughed to myself: If a BSA Scout decides that they are a cross-dresser, do they wear a GSA uniform?

We’ve placed our children in the hands of a bunch of sexual deviants in our schools, scouts, everywhere. SHAME ON US!!!
I will NOT support the BSA in anyway shape or form...in fact, I have had my name removed as a MB counselor, name removed from District, Council and National mailing lists and will not be registering as a leader again or in my local OA Lodge.
I will support individual Scouts, they’re the victims in all this mess created by National and the homofascists...the boys who have been under my tutelage the past few years and are within a hairs breadth of completing their Eagle have earned my loyalty to them and I will help them, even after I’m no longer registered.
I can and will find ways to help the boys without giving BSA one thin dime or one more minute of my life...
Never saw that one coming.

A few months ago, I returned my Eagle Scourt Metal to the BSA and request that I be removed from their records and listing of Eagle Scouts.
I was always proud to say that I AM an Eagle Scout. It is with a saddened heart that I will have to sheepesly admit that is WAS an Eagle Scout.
If you had asked me on the day on my Eagle Scout award, “Will homosexuals be able to invade and destroy BSA in the next few decades?” I would have looked at you like you were from outer space. (At the time, I’m not sure what a homosexual really was.)
In retrospect, Scouting years were the best of my young adult life. I am so sorry that so many young men will not have a similar experience.
It is truely a sad day for America.
