Have a look at HuffPo’s table of national polling in the GOP primary. The second debate, Fiorina’s breakout moment, was held on September 16th. In the last poll taken before that day, she was stuck at two percent. The next poll? 22 percent, tied with Trump nationally. She never approached that number again but she hit double digits in various polls afterward, notching 11, 15, 7, 6, 12, and 11 percent in the six surveys that followed. A week after that, at the very end of September, she was still pulling double digits in some polls, hitting 9, 8, 11, 9, and 13 percent. That last poll, conducted by a reputable outlet (Suffolk) from September 24 to 28, left her tied with Ben Carson for second behind Trump. A promising couple of weeks for Carly.
Since then, though, she hasn’t hit double digits once. This month she’s done 9, 9, 6, 7, 6, 7, 6, and 5 percent in the most recent Morning Consult poll. She’s within a couple of points of Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush in most of those polls, but she trails Rubio fairly consistently, at least, and she’s well behind Trump and Carson. In two polls, in fact, she trails Ted Cruz. What happened?

She’s a rino; and, people are doing the Wilder Effect and lying to pollsters - so, Cruz’s numbers are inaccurate and he’s doing way better than the polls. That’s my take. We are not stupid.
I think I know what happened. Before the first Pub debate nobody had ever heard of her. After the debate the media fawned over her constantly for a couple of weeks. With her raised name recognition and favorable publicity her numbers rose. (the “bounce”) This caused people to start looking closer at her and her past. What they saw caused her numbers to drop like a rock.
But it failed miserably, because people hate Carly the second they look at her.
The jump was manufactured by pollsters. It never existed
People began to learn about her track record at HP and how the Democrats were going to thoroughly destroy her in the Fall.
...and for me, that face reminded me of EVERY face I see at work. And I can’t stand it.

She got almost as much airtime as Trump. Cruz, not so much.

And she has her ace-in-the-hole - Megyn Kelly as unofficial adviser on playing the gender card.

Exactly it was an attempt to derail Trump. Then they jumped on Ka-sick. Now they are playing Carson and Trump off each other hoping they can get Rubio back in the picture as Jebbo looks like a caught fish flopping around on the pier. If necessary the GOPe will revamp the convention and use of delegates to shut out Trump or Carson. With them being played off each other as front runners, they effectively shut out Cruz too.
Meanwhile, Trumpster ambles along around 25% support and his possible running mate holds a constant 5% (Cruz). Chubby is the next to go out and probably the Huckster. FioRINO will stay in to the end hoping for a VP nod.
Carly’s bounce was more like a double dribble foul ,,, folks began taking a closer look at her past after the debate and discovered a mackerel in the moonlight .
Multi-multi-multi millionaires who stiff small businesses during campaign runs and then wait until they are running for the Presidency to pay them off tend not to do well with conservative voters
