I love air shows. I live mil-craft.

After 9/11 it was all but impossible to schedule seeing air shows.

Maybe I can start to try to see them.

We have lots of Air Shows in S. FL.

And, of course, the way these magnificent craft get to these shows is to FLY there.

I was walking my dog and heard a roar of antique propellers, looked up, and was treated to the sight of a beautifully restored B-24 flying overhead.

And I had the pleasure of meeting Gen Paul Tibbets at the Weeks Air Museum at Tamiami Airport.

I had a great chat with him. I said I loved his plane, and he said he loved my Harley.

Really True. I would not lie about something like that. :-)

Around 1987 my Daughter and I attended the air show in Tulsa.

After a while we were tired and went to the edge of the crowd and sat down on some broken concrete. While we were sitting there, several thunderbird cars drove up and Thunderbird pilots got out and got hot dogs at a stand not 15 feet from us.

Yes they ate hot dogs just before flying.

We were pretty much worn out and then went and sat in my pickup. As it turned out, we were right under their flight pattern as they made their turns to come around again.
