Ben Carson departed from his no-offense campaign Friday to take a few swipes at Donald Trump, the only candidate ahead of him in the polls. Speaking at the National Press Club about racism he has faced in his life, the retired neurosurgeon said he was very concerned about the Donald Trump people in our society. During a question-and-answer period, Carson was asked if he would consider being Trumps running mate. He responded by saying that he did not think he would be compatible with Trump. I believe that Donald Trump has been very useful because he brought in a lot of people, a lot of curiosity and enthusiasm, Carson said. And whoever the eventual nominee is will benefit from that. But in terms of [working with] the next President, I would obviously want somebody who is compatible with me. The things that have to be done are very very serious things, he added. This cant be tinkering around the edges
and I dont think [Trump] has a whole lot of time to do that. So it would have to be somebody who is very compatible, somebody who understands the urgency of what were doing. Carson typically avoids direct attacks on other candidates, and Trump has been defending Carson in the press for comments Carson made in the wake of the Oregon shooting suggesting that he would have been more aggressive towards the shooter.

Is there audio/video of this interview? TIA.
Thanks!! Will listen.
2 points...
1.This vicious personal smear against Trump, must also apply to those that currently support Trump. Therefore Carson has just told every Trump supporter, he would not welcome there support if Trump was to get out. Not smart, not smart at all.
2. Carson is elitist and privileged enough that he has not been personally affected by the problems caused by the policies Trump wants to change(i.e there are no illegals in his neighborhood)
Seriously. 7th Day Adventists are not a cult.
You’re just saying this because you think he said something bad about Trump.
I listened to the entire speech and Q&A session. He said nothing negative about Trump.

Cruz and Carson would be well advised to attack BEFORE several primaries are already lost to Trump. Then it would be too late! Trump can handle the attacks.
Something about Carson makes me uncomfortable...not sure exactly why or what. As to Cruz he wont be Trumps choice....although a fav here Cruz doesnt really bring anything to the table. Trump may bring in Carly or even Rubio. Long time away but its fun to speculate.
Enough said.
Trump supports Ryan too LOL!
I'm really hoping that's a serious misquote, as Carson is in my "top 5", so far. But that statement is just plain loopy. Trump would OBVIOUSLY have to turn over his business to other family members, as President.
Well...What now? Carson/Cruz?...
Ben doesn't need donors. He just needs to keep on talking.
Never say never.
Your answer shows a rational measured approach at understanding what you’re reading. Are you sure you belong here?
Trump seems to support Ryan as well.
George Soros could say that.
My interpretation of that is that Trump is not a detail man and that is not an insult. There’s a place for big picture guys (Trump) and for guys who execute (Cruz).
Um, wrong....
Paul Ryan is far from my first choice, but a very nice guy. The Republicans should go for tough and (very) smart this time - no games!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 10, 2015
And subtract that number from 100 gives you his negatives (almost anyway).
Agreed, at least regarding managerial style. I lean toward not having a Carter type (micro-manager) at the top, while not being as hands off as Reagan was in his 2nd term. But, obviously, just being the big picture guy could occupy all of Trump’s energy & time, and he comes off at least as being a lot more energetic than Carson.
I took Carson’s statement to mean that something would take Trump away from spending time on the country’s problems. What? Too busy tweeting? I really doubt that... I have many questions for Trump, but do not doubt that he is serious about taking on the country’s problems.
