ROCKUMENTARY: OCTOBER 10, 1960

#7: Elvis Presley: “It’s Now or Never”

This is a recycling of the Italian popular song “O Sole mio.” It started as a Tony Martin single in 1949 titled “There’s No Tomorrow.” Elvis heard it while stationed in Germany, and he passed it on to his music publisher, who came up with some fellows who wrote a whole new set of lyrics. It was one of his biggest hits.
