Howdy! I had surgery Wednesday and I’m having another in a series of rehab weekends. Either it hurts too much to sit at the puter or the pain meds are knocking me out. Either way is bad news for my Canteen addiction, so I’m just laying around with ice packs and my legs elevated, but I’m here (sort’a). Thanks for featuring LFDH Connie - I never miss an episode. BTW, my favorite chef and old pal Paul Prudhomme (K-Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen) passed away this week.

Woohoo, Drumbo...great to see you regardless. ((HUGS))

Stay as comfortable as you can and just enjoy some music.

Iconic Cajun and Creole chef Paul Prudhomme has died at the age of 75. Per WWL in New Orleans, a rep from Prudhomme's restaurant, K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen, says Prudhomme's death comes in the wake of "a brief illness."

Prudhomme first rose to fame as the executive chef of the legendary New Orleans restaurant Commander's Palace, where he's largely credited with helping to revolutionize Creole cuisine; he opened K-Paul's in the French Quarter in 1979, where it's still a major draw for tourists today.

I’m sorry about the loss of your friend, and that you couldn’t be there for his funeral. Did you get to see any video of his Jazz funeral? I just found this clip of the Second Line. http://videos.nola.com/times-picayune/2015/10/chef_paul_prudhomme_second_lin.html#incart_most-readliving

It may seem irreverent to some, but the Irish in me appreciates a rowdy send off.

Though I didn’t know Chef Prudhomme, I did know of him. He seemed like a fine upstanding man. May he rest in peace.
