I love all those films, but my all-time favorite is “Some Like It Hot”.

Another great duo piano team is Joseph and George Ratzinger. One became the German pope, and the other is a retired
kapellmeister. They like to play the Mozart and Schubert repertory for two pianos or one piano four hands.
They never performed publicly though.

"Some Like it Hot" was a masterpiece. The very idea of a gangsters' convention under parliamentary procedure had me rolling on the floor.

ROCKUMENTARY: OCTOBER 10, 1960
#8: The Ventures: Walk, Dont Run
This was originally a Johnny Smith jazz guitar tune from 1954. Chet Atkins did his own country version, and it was that recording that prompted a Tacoma (WA) band to record it, starting a career that made them the top instrumental group in the game.

Howdy! I had surgery Wednesday and I’m having another in a series of rehab weekends. Either it hurts too much to sit at the puter or the pain meds are knocking me out. Either way is bad news for my Canteen addiction, so I’m just laying around with ice packs and my legs elevated, but I’m here (sort’a). Thanks for featuring LFDH Connie - I never miss an episode. BTW, my favorite chef and old pal Paul Prudhomme (K-Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen) passed away this week.

#64: Johnny Horton: North to Alaska
In the Fifties, it was customary for a film to have a song attached as a marketing tool. Tom Lehrer was to satirize this in his comments about The Ten Commandments Mambo. This song was the marketing tool for a John Wayne movie of the same name.
It was Hortons last hit before crashing head on into a truck at age 35.
