...but at some point we’re going to have to look at Trump overall, and realize he’s the real deal.

But what if we look closely and find he is not the real deal, at least not yet?

...and can still deliver the Saul/Paul experience.

But Paul stayed away from ministry for seven years after his conversion. It was only when Barnabas brought him to the disciples that he was to become the great leader of the early church. How many years has it been since Trump has been called to conservationism? Does his ego and pride constitute a sin or a virtue? The Saul/Paul analogy really does not seem fitting at least at the present time. I pray that Trump is trusting in Christ alone for his righteousness before the throne of God's ultimate justice. I also pray that he is humble before the LORD and abhors his sin and arrogance. I hope one day to see the fruit of repentance, right now not so much.

I know Trump appreciates prayers.

Who are YOU to judge his "repentance" and the timing of such?

I notice people looking at Trump and not being convinced.  They may apprecaite what they are hearing, but for some reason they can't buy in.  Perhaps the way to look at him is to think about what he is saying and concentrate on what you disagree with.

Perhaps he can't make the sale because his past troubles you.  Listen and determine what you don't like.  It's my take that there will be very little you don't actually like.

In the literal sense, of course you are right.  The part of the Saul/Paul experience I am addressing is the instant change.  Saul/Paul did experience that.  It wasn't a slow process over time.  It wasn't described at Saul/Paul having that experience on the road to Damascus, and then studying for years.  No, he was changed in an instant.

I don't claim Trump to have been changed in an instant.  In I am not convinced Trump truely changed much at all in his core.  What he changed, >IMO<, was his committment to his core values, no longer willing to be a glad-hander to everyone, suddenly most comfortable becoming more judgemental and rigid in his standards.

I have made the case that Trump was formerly in a Business mode, glad handing everyone because any of them could have been an associate at some point.  Now he has to take a stand on issues, and it required him to "soul search" (if you will), which caused him to refine his acceptances and clearly define what he truly believed in and was willing to support.

When we look at his committment to his kids, his business, I think we see a guy that was committed to excellence.  I think we see a guy with views that are a lot closer to our own than we realized.
