Sen. Ted Cruz said Thursday that he doesnt think that Donald Trump will capture the 2016 GOP presidential nomination and predicted that it is only a matter of time before most of the New York billionaires supporters will move into his camp. During an appearance on WABC-AM Radio, host Rita Cosby asked Mr. Cruz whether he would eventually move past Mr. Trump based on his conservative principles, and the Texas Republcian said I think thats right. In time, I dont believe Donald is going to be the nominee, and I think in time the lions share of his supporters end up with us, Mr. Cruz said. Mr. Trump has tangled with most of the candidates running for the Republican presidential nomination and has touted how some of his rivals have sunk in the polls after attacking him. But he has not traded barbs with Mr. Cruz, who has been Mr. Trumps biggest ally in the crowded GOP field. In the WABC-AM interview, Mr. Cruz continued to praise Mr. Trump, saying he liked and respected Donald. Mr. Cruz said Mr. Trump has boosted his candidacy and his chance of becoming the partys standard-bearer. I think his involvement has been tremendously helpful to my campaign because it has framed the central question of the primary as: Who will stand up to Washington? Mr. Cruz said. And if thats the central question, the natural next question, that any voter will ask is okay, well who actually has stood up to Washington? Who has a record in that regard? The Cruz campaign also announced Thursday that he will report raising $12.2 million over the last three months exceeding the hauls of fellow Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida, who plans to report $6 million, and Rand Paul of Kentucky, who raised $2.5 million.

David and Solomon were both used by the Lord for His purposes. Both had serious weaknesses, which are pointed out, and both had exceptional strengths that God used. We all run with feet of clay and no one can measure who was “smarter” than the other. However, God called David, a man after His own heart, and God gave Solomon much wisdom and wealth - Solomon only prayed for wisdom and because he didn’t ask for riches, God granted him both. So, if you are measuring “smart,” then I’d have to say Solomon - because God gave him great wisdom.
Growing up is as equally wonderful.
May God allow you to have a nice morning.
That doesn’t give you the right to judge ANYONE’s faith. Get over yourself.
Well the Wise Guy should have known where women problems would go. His dad was the warning display. From whom much is given, much is required.
I don’t understand your point, but the sins of the fathers are visited upon the children unto the 3rd and 4th generation. David has his woman weakness, as did his son, Solomon. Come to think of it - Eve got Adam to sin, and Delilah brought Sampson down. Salome called for the head of John the Baptist - due to a promise made her from the king. Hmmm,
Agree:)
Yes, test them all. It would be a catastrophic dereliction of duty leave any candidate untested.
Was he born with that spiritual silver spoon or is he a prodigal son ...
That sounds a little like spiritual class envy!
...the heart that God is at deepest heart not even a bunch of morals, but love?
The heart of God is holiness, justice and love of His elect. Christ came to be a propitiation, that is to appease divine wrath, but on His next visit He comes to with a sword in His mouth to judge the nations and to cast the unregenerate into the eternal fire. So it is overly simplistic to say the heart of God is love, because it occludes the holiness and judgement of God. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, Jesus is not some cosmic boyfriend, but the ruler and judge of all creation. Kiss the Son lest you perish in the way when His wrath is kindled but a little. Ps 2
All Cruz has done is say what people here and the talking heads have been saying for quite some time about what his strategy will be.
Of course he is going to gun for Trumps voters.
Big deal, let the chips fall.
None of this is unexpected but, it is the Trump supporters that get the most bent about it here on Freerepublic.
Why is that? Why so emotional?
Why are they so upset over 6%-8% Cruz when Trump is what 21%-33%? Depending where you look.
I guess they don’t really believe Trump is so inevitable after all?
Cruz must be on to something here.

I like Cruz too. But what if Trump had said he doesn’t think Cruz would get the nomination would responses from Cruz supporters be emotional?
Demonstrably not true. Until Donald Trump single handedly opens the door to the country falling into depravity like Romney did with gay marriage, until he becomes the father and inventor of something as bad as his Romneycare and $50.00 abortions, the precursor to the scourge of the nation -- Obamacare, until he lies and etch a sketches amnesty and open borders and takes a long established organization like the Boy Scouts and bans them from the Olympics and declares gays to be needed at all levels of the Scouts including scout master like Romney did, until Trump can be proven a wanton prevaricator, lying about things when the truth would serve him better, until Trump sends out people to spread lies and destroy every conservative he sees as a threat, Mitt Romney will continue to be one of the biggest liberals the republican party has ever seen.
If he ran against Hillary as a democrat, she'd have to drop out of the race because his liberal credentials are so good. No one even considering running as a democrat can come close to matching lib Romney's marxist credentials.
I could go on and on. Romney is the son of an Alinsky loving liberal, and left the republican party because he hated conservative Ronald Reagan so much. Mitt Romney is a Fabian Socialist. Donald Trump is not.
I’m all in for Cruz and due to being vilified by Trump supporters here on FR I will in no way vote for Trump either in the primary or the general election.
Not the right, but the duty.
1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1 Thessalonians 5:21 Test all things; hold fast what is good.
2 Corinthians 2:9 For to this end I also wrote, that I might put you to the test, whether you are obedient in all things.
Titus 1:16 They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.
Carly is GOPe she wont get them and she has no $$$ she wont be a factor then, Carson is raising cash but has no state by state ground game...plus he makes huge errors in statements that shows hes. ot cut out for the job...nice guy and all he will be vetted thoroughly.
Trump has significant support of anti government supporters, they will not go to Cruz likely they would just stay home of vote for one of the other outsiders and I think polls show that.

I’ll second the remark that Ted seems to have made a mistake (and, unfortunately, not the first time he’s done so) Hopefully he’ll pray (as will we all) that The Lord will guide him on the proper path whereby he has no more mistakes to make. He has so much to offer and being half of the Trump/Cruz (or vice versa) team is important in MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! I pray for the wisdom of these two men and the strength that only God could provide. We need God back in our country once again. We are unable to do anything without Him. Amen and good night.

Cruz/Trump
Trouble in Paradise?
Nope.
All the candidates have spoken about the issues but they haven’t all said the same thing. Trump’s position on the illegal migrants is vastly different from Cruz’s for example. This is the big issue that Trump started with that is related to all his other points.
Lee, my sister and I speak of that a lot. I think America has slid so far down the slide to hell in the 60 years we’ve been alive that it would take something absolutely catastrophic like a worse depression than 29 or a worldwide nuclear disaster to have a national revival and turn this country back towards Christ.
Hope your Cardio problems can be managed. If there is one thing I’ve learned from my experience dealing with Leukemia, Medical Science in today’s world is amazing.
If not for great Doctors and Big Pharma, I wouldn’t be here harassing all the FR Posters. LOL
Take care of yourself my FRiend. It’s all good until it isn’t, or so I’ve been told.
If this forum becomes a savage Cruz vs. Trump battlefield, I”m investing in popcorn futures.
For me, it comes down to believing that Cruz is truly off the GOPe reservation. He’s had some troubling votes, his immigration stand has been iffy, and his big donors and wife represent the usual GOPe supporting suspects.
In spite of all that, maybe he’s really a true insurgent candidate, but unless he’s privy to info on a GOPe move that will keep Trump off the ballot in some key states, I don’t see why he’d “dis” Trump at this point. Maybe it’s just too much being read into some phrasing, but hey, at least it’s not a boring election season.
There’s also his Canadian birth. The Supreme Court has shown it’s more than willing to find all kinds of intent in the constitution, and who knows how they’d rule on that question?
I’ve sent money to Cruz, but I’d rather see Trump win the nomination. If Trump implodes, quits or dies I’d certainly support Cruz, but I’d not be shocked if he Ted got elected and then turned out to be a GOPe sheep in conservative wolf’s clothing. I hope that’s not the case.
