Sen. Ted Cruz said Thursday that he doesnt think that Donald Trump will capture the 2016 GOP presidential nomination and predicted that it is only a matter of time before most of the New York billionaires supporters will move into his camp. During an appearance on WABC-AM Radio, host Rita Cosby asked Mr. Cruz whether he would eventually move past Mr. Trump based on his conservative principles, and the Texas Republcian said I think thats right. In time, I dont believe Donald is going to be the nominee, and I think in time the lions share of his supporters end up with us, Mr. Cruz said. Mr. Trump has tangled with most of the candidates running for the Republican presidential nomination and has touted how some of his rivals have sunk in the polls after attacking him. But he has not traded barbs with Mr. Cruz, who has been Mr. Trumps biggest ally in the crowded GOP field. In the WABC-AM interview, Mr. Cruz continued to praise Mr. Trump, saying he liked and respected Donald. Mr. Cruz said Mr. Trump has boosted his candidacy and his chance of becoming the partys standard-bearer. I think his involvement has been tremendously helpful to my campaign because it has framed the central question of the primary as: Who will stand up to Washington? Mr. Cruz said. And if thats the central question, the natural next question, that any voter will ask is okay, well who actually has stood up to Washington? Who has a record in that regard? The Cruz campaign also announced Thursday that he will report raising $12.2 million over the last three months exceeding the hauls of fellow Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida, who plans to report $6 million, and Rand Paul of Kentucky, who raised $2.5 million.

Fast track circumvented the debate and publication of the full details, making this process far more streamlined (and far less transparent). It helped Obama and definitely didn’t help America.
Trump has really shaken the establishment......BLESS HIM!
Maybe Trump will go with his original plan and pick Oprah for his VP?
i can only speak to what I have heard people say that are pretty knowledgeable about politics. They've basically said they like what Trumo hasmto say but they really don't trust him because of his history of making promises then not following through on them. Others have said he's basically a good entertainer but we that what America really needs right now is a statesman, a Constitutionalist; not a sideshow. I tend to agree with their assessment. I do like the fire in the belly that Trump has injected back into Christian Conservatives and appreciate his giving the leftists hell and a taste of their own medicine, telling it like it is though.

Since you lack reading comprehension, let me direct you to my posts 20 and 44.
If that doesn’t suffice, you can pi$$ off.
Doesn’t help Obama at all. Actually, if you support Trump, it helps Donald. When he’s President, all those Great, Huge trade deals and re-negotiations he’s promising — well, they zip right through Congress-— thanks to Ted Cruz and fast track.
It’ll be open warfare among conservatives if Trump starts going after Cruz. This forum and others will become a savage battlefield.
Exactly. That phrase belongs exclusively to Trump, and only he is allowed to say it about other candidates. Everybody knows that. < /sarc >
Cruz also supports the right of illegals to get legal status. I say "screw you Ted!"
"Ingratitude, hubris and arrogance"?
Those attributes are totally owned by Trump - in spades. But no one is allowed to even mention his name unless in praise, I guess.
FR has truly become bizarro -
Irrational is looking the other way when your guy votes differently than his rhetoric, like the rest of DC. Words are cheap.
His owners have an agenda which we do not subscribe to here: amnesty and outsourcing of American jobs. So don’t tout your “conservative” credentials if you can honestly support massive increases in H1-B visas or amnesty.
I think he's pacing himself as not to oversaturate the public like so many other politicians in the running do. By holding back he's not so much a target for negative jounalism amd digging up trash by the MSM. I thinkmhe will start surging as the election draws closer and closer. If you know Cruz he's an excellent debater and strategist. He would cream Obama in a debate...
I find it an odd disconnect that you would show so little faith and moral fever about the law of God and yet on your page you quote Ezekiel "But Who causes people to be good? Only He Who said, 'And I will visit them to make them good,' and, 'I will put my Spirit within you, and will cause you to walk in my righteousness, and to observe my judgments, and do them'(Ezek.36:27)
You left the "y" off "bull."
“If I don’t, I’ll be the first nomination loser who came in with twice the primary votes of the next contender...”
Maybe to the GOPe, Trump is viewed as less poison than Cruz, and !Jeb! will keep it up to the bitter end, basically making the above true.
The Cruz guys will be on the losing end though. Cruz fails on the most important issues and is no "pure" conservative, which is their only attack against Trump.
Cruz would not be saying these things now regarding winning over Trump if it was not carefully planned, and be sure that Trump knew this was coming beforehand.
Trump nicely mentioned (in Vegas, today) that his campaign had to ask candidates that have been using his MAGA slogan, at their rallies, to stop. I’d heard that the Trump folks had to ask Cruz not to use it anymore (a few days ago).
Maybe it’s a last ditch effort by Cruz. Strange, regardless.
Cruz is my favorite candidate but this is sad .. really. I mean Cruz has consistently been stuck at 5-6% in the polls with Trump polling 4x to 6x what Cruz is polling and Cruz thinks Trump will fade out? Thus far Cruz has run a pretty boring presidential campaign and can’t get any traction. Perhaps he is running for VP.
I honestly dont think Cruz can win. Hes not a street fighter and thats what its going to take. If Trump goes, it all goes right down the toilet.
