After Leader McCarthy’s announcement, members of the House Republican Conference will not vote today for a new Speaker. As I have said previously, I will serve as Speaker until the House votes to elect a new Speaker. We will announce the date for this election at a later date, and I’m confident we will elect a new Speaker in the coming weeks. Our conference will work together to ensure we have the strongest team possible as we continue to focus on the American people’s priorities.

Yup, pull Mark Meadow’s trigger. A little discussed, but very important sub theme here is filing deadlines for primary challengers. If stealth RINOs are forced to vote for GOPe now their cover will be broken in time to run alternatives. If they can stall a we bit longer they’re home free this go around and can hope we’ll forget by ‘18. From the way this is going down there are obviously a lot more stealth RINOs than true Conservatives in the House, but relatively few who think they can be re-elected as open RINOs.

It’s time for the Tea Party Caucus to bring forth the bill declaring the Speaker’s chair vacant. There’s no reason why the election among the remaining candidates was postponed. Stop letting the Lame Duck drive the agenda.

I've spoken to Webster's and Jordan's offices. They are as numbed and shocked as we are. They have no idea what is going on, except to say this is caucus rules, or something.

I've asked if the Freedom Caucus has their legal eagles on this, to see if Bohehner can even do this, and Jordan's office said yes, they likely do.
