President Barack Obama plans to approve several executive orders to initiate gun control measures that Congress is unlikely to pass.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said in an Oct. 5 press conference that the president’s actions were in response to the recent shooting in Oregon, where a gunman killed nine people attending a writing class. Witnesses said he killed those proclaiming a Christian faith and wounded others, stating they were of another faith, no faith, or not answering the question.

I’m sure they’ll all step right into legal legitimate jobs too... or at least 2 or 3 of them will.

B Hussein will probably try to include Kwame the K in that number.

I’m just thankful that he can’t pardon Mumia.

I’m sure they will. They need to report to their old bosses and get new orders. Establish new crews.

And pay visits to their former associates who cut deals with the cops.

Bill creates ‘death by dealer’ crime in fatal drug overdoses

Sept. 9, 2015, in Mineola, N.Y. Aiming to curb rising heroin use in the suburbs of New York City, prosecutors on Long Island have written legislation that would allow authorities to charge heroin dealers with homicide after fatal overdoses.

By MICHAEL BALSAMO - Associated Press - Wednesday, September 9, 2015

MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) - Hoping to curb what authorities have called a rising heroin epidemic in the suburbs of New York City, a Long Island prosecutor has drafted “death by dealer” legislation by which heroin dealers could be charged with homicide if their customers fatally overdose.

Under the proposal, prosecutors could charge dealers with felony homicide if there is evidence the drugs they sold contributed to the person’s death, Acting Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas, whose office wrote the bill, told The Associated Press on Wednesday. Those convicted of the highest-level homicide charge under the proposed law could face a maximum of 25 years in prison.

In most circumstances, state law doesn’t allow drug dealers to be charged with homicide in connection with a customer’s death.

“It’s something that was absolutely a hole in our laws,” Singas said during an interview at her office. “It’s something that needs to be addressed, especially as people are dying more and more frequently.”

Singas said prosecutors would need to rely on the same evidence they already use in the courtroom - pointing to cases where they had confessions, wire taps and text messages - to prove the customer’s relationship with the dealer.

Assemblyman Tod Kaminsky said he plans to push for the legislation when the legislature resumes in January.

“If you look at the fact that a dealer can give someone what amounts to a lethal dosage and have it be treated almost like a run-of-the-mill crime, we have a problem,” he said.

Crime rate soars; Republicans join leftists in seeking release of felons

REPUBLICAN Senators Grassley, Cornyn, Lee, Graham, and Flake

As ideological leftists and misguided conservatives rush to have felons released from prison, the crime rate continues to soar. It’s certainly soaring in Baltimore, where the recently-fired police chief says that cops are “taking a knee” in response to lack of support from city officials. According to Fox News:

For September, homicides were up 39 percent and non-fatal shootings nearly doubled over the same month in 2014, continuing a disturbing trend that has gripped the Charm City since Gray’s death in April and the rioting that followed. For the year, murders are up 52 percent and non-fatal shootings 80 percent over last year.

But crime is also soaring in Washington, D.C. and rising in New York City. Fox News tells us:

Baltimore’s increase is comparable to that of Washington, D.C., which has seen a 48-percent increase. New York City has seen a 9.6-percent increase in homicides so far in 2015.

Yet Senators Grassley, Cornyn, Lee, Graham, and Flake are sponsoring legislation that will cause felons, including those who committed their crimes while carrying guns, to be released from jail.

Are they aware of the statistics on recidivism? The numbers tell us that within three years of release, about two-thirds (67.8 percent) of released prisoners are rearrested. Within five years, about three-quarters (76.6 percent) are rearrested. And more than half (56.7 percent) are arrested by the end of the first year.

Let’s also remember that lots of crime goes unreported or does not result in an arrest. Thus, the recidivism rates understate the amount of crime committed by released prisoners.

Just what do Sens. Grassley, Cornyn, Lee, Graham, and Flake expect to happen when released prisoners return, say, to Baltimore and find what experts call “a less assertive police”? I expect many of them to join the ranks of what a police spokesman called “highly motivated bad guys.” The statistics back me up.

And what about the nation’s heroin epidemic? Presumably, Grassley and company know about this. Are they aware that 76.9 percent of drug offenders are rearrested within five year? Do they expect drug offenders who are released early to abstain from trying to cash in on the heroin trade? If so, what is the source of their confidence?

Finally, what about the connection between drug trafficking and terrorism?

In March, Sen. Grassley, quoting the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, warned that “there is a growing nexus between drug trafficking and terrorism, a threat that increasingly poses a clear and present danger to our national security.” It would be foolhardy, Grassley added, to meet the threat of narcoterrorism by cutting drug sentences.

What makes Grassley think it is any less foolhardy to do so now, with crime soaring and the heroin epidemic worsening?

Republicans are sometimes called “the stupid party.” What Sens. Grassley, Cornyn, Lee, Graham, and Flake are proposing — along, let’s not forget, with Sens. Leahy, Durbin, Schumer, Whitehouse, and Booker — justifies the slur.

This has NOTHING to do with overcrowded prisons and everything to do with the 2016 elections. Obama is just getting all his voters out on the streets and mobilized just in time to vote for Biden.
