U.S. sees Russia readying ground campaign in Syria
CNN ^ | 10-5-2015 | Barbara Starr

The latest U.S. assessment of Moscow's activity in western Syria indicates Russia has moved several ground combat weapons and troops into the area to potentially back up Syrian forces in the field planning to attack anti-regime forces, according to two U.S. defense officials.

The U.S. views the move as Russia "stepping up its ground activity" in Syria to attack those forces, rather than ISIS elements, according to one of the officials.

It's believed the Russians are positioning the weapons to be able to support a Syrian ground offensive, the officials said.

The equipment includes several piece of artillery, as well as four BM-30 multiple-launch rocket systems -- all considered to be highly accurate weapons. The latter is capable of rapid-fire rocket launches.

McCain seems to want to bomb many people, he’s crazy. I think yes, his ultimate fantasy is nuclear war.

And where is Bamhbi watching this from?

The Situation War Room? Where he was photo-shopped in to show him observing UBL getting whacked by the SEALS.

Will the Nobel Peace Prize winner get us into a war with Russia, China and Iran giving him a "reason" to try to suspend the 2016 election?

Just a thought...

I was watching American Sniper the other night. Over and over again the bad guys were using cell phones for their radio communications. I kept thinking why didn’t we just jam all the cell phones? Why are we allowing them cheap, easy communication devices for intel and to blow us up with?

Yeah, then it hit me. We wanted to be nice. We wanted them to like us by not turning off their phones — in a war zone!

How many Americans were killed or maimed in Iraq because we didn’t want to be mean and jam their cell phones?

Unbelievable.

I can’t see the Russians deploying many Lawyers to Syria. Can you?

Right. I very seriously doubt that we'll see any Russian soldiers charged with murder for killing isis scum.

Reports through today of #Russia ground troop movements into #Latakia mountains & into #Hama & #Homs. Sounds like offensive preparations.

Wait till the ISIS captures a Russian Pilot and burns him to death on TV. Or Russian Soldiers decapitated on camera. What will Putin do—I don’t see him withdrawing or going to the UN and asking for peace. This could get really bad—really fast.

So, this is what it looks like when your government has a Grand Strategy.

Yeah, that happened already. One of the most chilling videos on the Internet. I believe Chechen rebels? beading multiple Russian soldiers (pretty young too). Russia went after every last one of them until they were dead.

Russia will not Mirandize terrorists. Nor will they transport them to an island paradise, feed them free-range goat and falafel, and give them Kindles to read the Koran.

Yes, it is definitely a possibility. He doesn’t trust Putin; well neither do I.

But if Putin is taking out the trash in Syria, it’s because Bammy and McCain, et al, got it really going with Libya, Egypt and then Syria.

I’m sure it’s also no accident.

I’m sure Putin won’t have any mercy on any ISIS he finds. And I’m sure I have no problem with that.

Obama has been dithering for months on Syria. He thought he could just back ISIS and let inertia take over, and after awhile, Assad would be gone. It was only a matter of time before Russia did something. They also have interests in that region, and they’re not going to leave it up to inertia.
