While the US has certainly made some epic strategic blunders in Syria that raise serious questions about just how intelligent US intelligence actually is, theres little doubt that if one were to look behind all of the media parroting, the Pentagon and Langley understand all too well whats going on in the Middle East.
That is, the significance of the Russia-Iran nexus in Syria isnt lost on anyone in the US military and you can bet there have been quite a few high level discussions over the past 72 hours about the best way to counter Moscow and Tehrans powerplay before it spills over into Iraq and ends up degrading Washingtons influence in Baghdad.
As we put it on Friday, if Russia ends up bolstering Iran's position in Syria (by expanding Hezbollah's influence and capabilities) and if the Russian air force effectively takes control of Iraq thus allowing Iran to exert a greater influence over the government in Baghdad, the fragile balance of power that has existed in the region will be turned on its head and in the event this plays out, one should not expect Washington, Riyadh, Jerusalem, and London to simply go gentle into that good night.
Sure enough, some experts now predict Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey will move to counter Russia militarily if Moscow continues to rack up gains for Assad.

.....”U.S. and Russia have entered into a religious war between the Sunni sect and the Shiite sect of the Islamic religion”.....
Well that’s simply the excuse they use to get their people to fight and submit.....they M.E. leadership are always about the oil on every front to secure thier Royal Positions of Power. ......it’s all about who controls the oil...and the people. Religion is just what keeps the ball going in their favor.
Personally, if they follow any form of Islam I must regard them as adversaries, their book commands them to kill, convert or enslave me.
Recent history reminds us that dictatorships, however benevolent or not, are preferable to the chaos in Libya , for example.
Saddam, Quaddafi, Mubarak and Assad are/were not Islamists like MB, AQ, and ISIS.
The more devoutly they follow Islam, the more dangerous they are to us. None of them should be considered allies.
Assad is not shiite.
It is a myth that alawites are shiite, not anywhere close to being true
No confidence at all in those deciding what to do with said intelligence.
If true, he was the main "Moderate" opposition leader. This should cause some panic in Riyadh and DC.

“Lots of Twitter reports that the Russians killed Zahran Alloush, the commander of Jaysh al-Islam and a friend of Kerry and McCain, along with several other high-ranking members, when they bombed a command bunker in Syria this morning.”
Tears the for transnationals. Good!
Tears FOR the transnationals even, lol.
#3 Joe Biden is ready with vp John Kerry! : )
Our first move is to get the C-I-C to resign and replace him with someone competent.
“The Saudis better worry about securing Yemen before they begin taking on the Russians.”
Or ask the Russians for military help in Yemen.
“Lots of Twitter reports that the Russians killed Zahran Alloush, the commander of Jaysh al-Islam and a friend of Kerry and McCain, along with several other high-ranking members, when they bombed a command bunker in Syria this morning.”
We need to go to Costco and buy a lot of popcorn* for the new TV series, the “War against Islamic Terrorism, gets real”, stay tuned.
*Note my tagline.
"What the Saudis like to do is to pay for Wahhabi ,like family member Osama bin Laden, to attack infidels with passenger jets ( WTC style) . They are total chikin $h1ts. The Russians would smack them down so hard their turbins would fall off.
Yeah, Launch Of Regional War, good one. It's been so peaceful in the region up to now. Russia invades Syria, bombs indiscriminately, promises to bring in 150,000 troops -- none of their business, either.
Good luck, pal!

Unless the Saudis hire a bunch of western mercs to fight that regional war, it’ll just be another arab on arab clusterfrack. The only force that can make an arab army look competent is another arab army.
It would be entertaining to watch on youtube, though.
Four hundred more days...
Can someone tell me if the muslims in Georgia are shiites or sunnis ?
