Read up on how military and first responders joke about horror. It's not callous, it's a natural coping mechanism to keep the trauma at arms length. Trying to stop it is a perfect example of how political correctness directly harms people. Granted, it can be taken too far. But a little bit helps keep balanced.
Quite a stretch to equate keyboard commandos with soldiers and first responders. More than a little disturbing, sa I think of it.
My daughter is a police officer and was a paramedic before that. They don’t joke when they come upon mass casualties. Only bystanders who think they’re cool have the ability to do that.

Nobody responding on this thread is a first responder to this incident. That the first thing that occurred to people was to start making crude jokes or speculating on the political affiliations of those killed is disgusting.
