At least Christians have been protected with Assad, and Assas has never beheaded or crucified people ala Saudi Arabia and their friends ISIS.
So I think there’s a significant difference between Assad and Saudi Arabia.

Lucy Hamilton is correct -- the Assad dictatorship protects Christians -- Christians are allowed to be Syrian citizens, to worship and live in peace. They formed 10% of Syria's citizenship before 2003 and 20% until 2011 (due to people running from Iraq).
how many Christians in Saudi Arabia? 0%
Are you allowed to carry a Bible or crucifix into Saudi ARabia? NO. It will be confiscated and burnt on entry.
Assad is an angel compared to the Saudis
