Gee there’s an awful lot of Muslim wedding parties hit over the years.

Maybe weddings aren’t a good cover for terrorist gatherings anymore.

Yes... a baby formula factory disguised as an aspirin factory.

wasn’t there a wedding party in Yemen last year where they were dancing to Gangnam Style and a guy accidentally kill a bunch of guests because he was dancing with his gun?

Air bombardment alone doesn’t seem to accomplish much in terms of winning wars. We read in this article that a Saudi led coalition has “air superiority” over the parts of Yemen held by the rebels for a year now.

But, apparently no “boots on the ground”. What’s the point? If you are not willing to go seize and hold territory I question whether there is any point in dropping bombs on people. Let’s face it: bombs are not very discerning weapons and a lot of innocents are going to get killed and injured in any bombing campaign except for the most clear military targets, like an air base or army training camp.

The same strategy which is failing in the Islamic State is failing in Yemen. The US is a big part of this failure. You’d think the geniuses at the Pentagon would get that you can’t win a war by only dropping bombs.

The last person with a real plan to win the War on Islam was Ann Coulter: “We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren’t punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That’s war. And this is war.”

Compared to her clarity we get nuance, even from the supposed genius generals like Patreaus and McCrystal, but we don’t get victory. (Of course Obama has sabotaged whatever was achieved in Iraq and Afghanistan, so perhaps if we had better leaders the General’s victories would seem more real.)

It is apparently very unhealthy to attend a wedding in an muzzy country. Almost as unhealthy as going to a mosque in saudi arabia.

Saudis do not have boots on ground in Yemen because any defeat would be a manor loss of face for them and is believed to be enough to destabilize their government.

Some believe their rule to be tenuous.

If I was to marry again, I’d convert to Islam and marry in Yemen, It’s a win/win with 72 virgins involved.

I’m sure my recently deceased wife would appreciate her 72 Chippendales, too.
