Russian Media Abuzz With Anticipation of Putin's UN Speech

By The Associated Press

MOSCOW — Sep 28, 2015, 9:05 AM ET

Russian media are abuzz with anticipation of President Vladimir Putin's speech at the UN.

Putin is in the United States for the first time since Russia annexed Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula in March 2014 and threw its support behind separatist rebels in Ukraine. What is more, Russia's recent military buildup in Syria has raised concern in the West about Putin's future steps there.

A state-owned news channel has run a countdown to the opening of the UN General Assembly on its screen all day Monday. Another Russian television channel, Ren-TV, said Monday that Putin is "preparing a speech that will change the world."

This "ETL"...Last night it was arguing that NAFTA wasn’t originally Jimmy Carter’s grand idea.

If you mean by "it", me (ETL), you clearly have me mixed up with someone else. I didn't post anything regarding NAFTA. At least not in the past 5 or so years. You guys are such dishonest despicable pieces of (4-letter word that rhymes with 'hit')

Seems to me lots of Russians are willing to fight to keep Crimea. Seems to me Ukrainians switched sides to hand it over as eager as you please. Hence, not my problem.

I don't particularly care about Putin but he does know how to operate and speak as a statesman regarding his country and it's peoples, and this regardless of what means he uses to do so. The people "believe" in him and that carries substantial weight for any leader. Europe knows all to well they really messed up believing Obama could handle the situations in the ME and throughout with Russia.....but Obama used some very tough strong arming tactics to get their support....they hate him for doing so. So now here we are with a totally messed up Europe and M.East and it ALL lays at the feet of this administration.

.....”Now that Putin is acting decisively in the ME, Obama needs ‘the appearance of doing something’.... [Notice how Obama UN speech emphasized need to defeat ISIS in the ME. The profound gulf between Obama’s words and actions are tragic]”.....

The entire world has suffered now through the Obama administration....all Obama can do now is make ‘Appearances’ by interjecting himself as if he’s significant....he’s not.

Remember when they took out Ben_laden and the photo of him sitting in the corner right off the golf course?.....well he never even was informed that hit was coming....I think it was Petraus who went ahead without Obamas authority or even knowing.

The world operates as that now regarding Obama...he’s the last one on deck and has to find some way to cover for his being out of the world affairs loops.

I’m not sure just how the Syria thing will play out but it looks like currently Putin’s once again steps ahead and taking care of the situation as he’s already underway....I suspect the world leaders will indeed go with the flow.

The New York Times? Really?

They were just reporting what some group in Russia uncovered: a pro-Putin internet troll facility. Not sure what their motives were/are for reporting it. Perhaps they thought they were somehow protecting Obama, because in reality Russia couldn't have a better friend than Obama. He is more or less paving the way for them to retake Eastern Europe and expand into the Middle East. He 'acts' like he's all concerned about it, while his actions prove otherwise. The missile defense and nuke deals he's made with them benefit them and their expansionist agenda significantly.

Events like this, your Russian pals expanding into Eastern Europe and the Middle East, play out over time. So info from 2, 3, 5, 10 years or more can still be of critical value. But you’re not REALLY that dumb, are you?

of critical value?????

No You are surely mistaken on that note....there is nothing “critical” in any of those articles you posted that plays into the current Syrian situation nor the UN speeches.

Using these as a source of distraction form the issues at hand is simply that. ...often referred to as trolling.

Fear of a Shia full moon

BYLINE: Events are proving that the king of Jordan was right to warn of a ‘Shia crescent’ across the Middle East - even though the phrase was a tad undiplomatic, writes Ian Black

Ian Black | Friday 26 January 2007

Late in 2004, King Abdullah of Jordan coined a controversial phrase that still resonates powerfully in the Middle East: there was, he argued, a “Shia crescent” that went from Damascus to Tehran, passing through Baghdad, where a Shia-dominated government had taken power and was dictating a sectarian brand of politics that was radiating outwards from Iraq across the whole region.

The king’s words were certainly prescient: the divide between Sunni and Shia Muslims looks like being one of the big themes of 2007 as both come to terms with the apparently unstoppable chaos in Iraq, the rise of Iran as a regional power, and the fear of new and catastrophic consequences if the US and/or Israel enter into armed confrontation with the Islamic republic.

Now some scholars are even talking of a new “30 years’ war” between the two branches of Islam - something akin to the struggle between Protestants and Catholics in 16th-century Europe.

Some of this deepening anxiety has been evident in comments by the Jordanian monarch in recent days. A journalist from the London-based Sharq al-Awsat newspaper reminded him that officials in Iran were “looking forward to a full Shia moon, not just a Shia crescent.” The king responded by stressing that he had never used the word Shia in a sectarian sense - “let’s not delve into these labels,” he insisted - but rather was referring to “political alignments”.

His “Shia crescent” tag went down badly because it was simply too frank; it was simplistic, too, smoothing over local factors of ethnicity and nationalism to provide a single, overarching explanation. In a region where political discourse is often coded, it was highly unusual to hear such blunt language.

This is all about who will ultimately control the Caliphate in the ME. As that leader will sit at the table of the NWO once it's fully in place. It's political to be sure....

Aside from the 2016 election, the last big thing on Obama’s “bucket list” is the fraudulent Climate Change agenda.

It is distressing to hear these major leaders march in lock-step.

The words we will probably not hear from any leader’s speech is Agenda 2030 (under which Climate Change is subsumed). It is Agenda 21 revamped and super-sized.

Redistribution is the order of the day -— redistribution of money, resources, and populations.

Honestly, I don’t think he realizes what happened. Neither does anyone at the State Department.

Remember the loons we have had there for over 20 years. No Russia desk, no real understanding of ME culture (the Arab Spring was our fault), no real grand strategy. Russia and China have over a thousand years of unbroken cultural ties for their foreign policy. Even during the purges, the new guys seemed to just pick up where the old ones left off.

Obama has two grand goals. Massive decrease in “greenhouse gases” and spreading pedophilia. Both will result in the collapse of not just the US, but of Western civilization. Both are the only things he seems to take action on, with a focus on punishing the army for not allowing our allies to bugger.

Meanwhile, Russia is taking the Middle East and China is grabbing Africa and making in roads to South America. We will not even be a regional power in 20 years if this keeps up. We may loose part of North America for that matter.

Does not look like Netanyahu will be at UN, but there is this:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will visit the White House in November for his first meeting with President Barack Obama since he came to Washington in March to lobby Congress against the Iran nuclear accord....

....The extent to which the Obama administration has developed a new strategy will be tested during the upcoming 70th U.N. General Assembly in New York. The French are reportedly considering the introduction of another resolution prompting the U.N. to accept Palestine as a state, but they have indicated they don’t want to bring it up for a vote only to see it vetoed by the U.S.

Now some scholars are even talking of a new “30 years’ war” between the two branches of Islam - something akin to the struggle between Protestants and Catholics in 16th-century Europe.

First of all, it was between France (Catholic and often supporting the Protestant estates), and Spain (Catholic, supporting the Catholic states via Protestant mercenary armies). Germany just happened to be the battle ground chosen by both sides.

But it is an apt description. The battlefield here will be Iraq and Syria, and the dividing line isn't so much Shia/Shite, but the House of Saud and Israel vs Iran and the non Arab muslim states. With Israel making noises about supporting the Russian plan, I expect Saud to drift from the US orbit soon.
