well, I’m not Polish, but I;ve lived here for 5 years. I didn’t know (don’t have a TV), but there is a lot of “we don’t want the Islamic refugees” here.

Yeah, a few of us are here, mostly though 2nd and 3rd generations of Poles living in USA.
On the imigrants issue let me explain how it looks in Poland right now:
We are waiting for gov. elections next month, we expect that they will be won by right wing Law and Justice party but it's a bit tight between them and the current government - Civic Platform.
CP has been governing for the past 8 years but their candidate for President elections has lost badly to LaJ candidate.
CP also has proven to be a bunch of liers and hypocrites, lately we had a "small" affair here were top people in the goverment lost their jobs after their "secret" conversations were recorded. They mostly proved to be cheats caring only about their money and setting up "their" people on governmental positions.
What is more frustrating for citizens they were showing themselves as an economically liberal party yet they have raised taxes and done nothing to fight corruption or deregulate old economic laws (some still descending from communist times!) Opening your own business in Poland is a nightmare and sh*tload of money is being drained from Poland due to lack reasonable laws.
Last thing was their incapability to stand tough to EU. they are simply Merkel's lackeys and that's a bad thing really. At first they said we will not take any "refugees", then we heard about accepting 2 thousand, finally it is going to be 12 thousand probably. They are lost in their own lies. would be a better thing if they told the truth.
Poland has already accepted, 1,3 million (yes, million) VISA requests from Ukraininan civillians running away from the war at our Eastern border sine 2014. That's the biggest immigrant inflow in Europe.
What I can say from my persepctive as a person living here is that we have huge open hearts for immigrants running away from war, we have already proved that. But the people coming here from Arabia are nor refugees. Most of them don't escape from war, they have settled in Turkey for the past two years and they are coming here not to run away from war but to live from social security rich countries in EU are providing.
