Rattner says less attention has been paid to Fiorina’s time at Lucent, the job she had before going to HP. Fiorina was never the boss at Lucent, but Rattner says she oversaw the use of a number of aggressive sales tactics to boost revenue. Rattner says shortly after Fiorina left Lucent, the company “veered off a cliff.”

The problems for Shrillary Fiorina started after she demanded one of the foremost research and development labs in the country (and in the history of our country...) figure out ways to monetize their inventions, otherwise there was no point in her mind to their existance.

Bell Labs went off the rails because they lost so much of their highly talented and skill research and development folks during Shrillary Fiorina's time at Bell Labs.

Fast forward to Shrillary Fiorina's time at HP and she literally did the exact same thing that ruined Bell Labs: She attempted to take HP's Enterprise business (high end Unix Servers, Storage, etc..) which were HIGHLY profitable for HP (I know, I was one of HP's major customers in the Chicago area)and tried transforming HP into a consumer products company.

DUMB, DUMB, DUMB!

The Compaq acquisition was an unmitigated disaster, cost more than 30,000 people to lose their jobs, which Shrillary Fiorina then outsourced to India, all the while getting her big fat MILLIONS of dollars in pay while destroying other people's lives and one of this country's great companies.

Shrillary Fiorina killed Bell Labs. She DAMN NEAR killed HP, which to a large degree is still reeling from the damage of the past.
