A top fundraiser for the March of Dimes in two Southern states has been ousted after questioning her employer on whether it has ties to Planned Parenthoods business of supplying aborted babies for scientific research.
The March of Dimes has always said publicly that it has no involvement in the abortion industry and no relationship with Planned Parenthood. It remains neutral politically on the issue of abortion, it says on its website.
The MOD slogan is A Fighting Chance for Every Baby. It raises nearly $200 million annually for research into cures for birth defects and premature births.
Joy Barr, who served three years as community director for the MODs Augusta, Georgia, and Aiken-Sumter, South Carolina, offices, personally raised more than $250,000 for the organization.
But she discovered the group, founded in 1938 to support healthy newborns, is hiding dark secrets from the public and its donors.
Barrs job was to recruit donors of all sizes, including a large Catholic hospital, Trinity Hospital of Augusta, which has a strict rule against donating to any groups with ties to abortion.
After the Center for Medical Research started releasing its undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood executives casually bartering for reimbursement for baby body parts harvested during abortions, including intact livers, hearts, brains and even whole babies, Barr began asking questions of her employer.
I was horrified by what I saw in the videos but not completely shocked, Barr told WND. But when Cecile Richards (CEO of Planned Parenthood) made the comment about the importance of research using aborted fetal tissue for Alzheimers and Parkinsons, my next thought was, do we?
Were there any ties between the wholesome March of Dimes and the ghastly Planned Parenthood?

I believe that MOD for over a decade has been pushing amniocentesis to discover birth defects and of course, then encouraging abortion. Whether they are using fetal tissue for research I don’t know. Follow the money. I had a huge falling out with two former business partners when they donated money to them. I left and then retaliated by spending their Amex points for pro-life and anti-same sex charities. hehe.
“I had a huge falling out with two former business partners when they donated money to them. I left and then retaliated by spending their Amex points for pro-life and anti-same sex charities.”
Thank you for that.
How Many groups has Planned Parenthood permeated?
Girl Scouts, March of Dimes
and what else?
If you decrease the number of babies born you also will decrease the amount of illnesses you are fighting.
Well-played, March of Dimes.
You ought to suggest that to then as their new slogan.
“I had a huge falling out with two former business partners when they donated money to them. I left and then retaliated by spending their Amex points for pro-life and anti-same sex charities. hehe.”
That has to be one of the most . . . cool things I have ever heard!
Thanks. I was pretty happy about it at the time.
The following is an email I sent to the March of Dimes:
It is sickening that the March of Dimes with the slogan - “A Fighting Chance for Every Baby” - donates to Planned Parenthood, an organization that kills babies and sells their body parts. Why do you support the Planned Parenthood abortion mill?
Here is their response:
Thank you for your inquiry. A few local March of Dimes chapters have given local grants to Planned Parenthood exclusively for preconception, prenatal, and interconception education in areas of the country where prenatal care is sparse, non-existent or difficult to access. This allows women to get the care they need to help improve the health of both mom and baby. [Reality: The effect of such grants is to indirectly provide additional funds for abortion services. Money is fungible. Such grants provide the opportunity for Planned Parenthood to increase the amount of undesignated donations to be used for abortion services.]
The March of Dimes is neutral on the subject of abortion. The March of Dimes does not encourage, fund, or support abortion services through national, state or community grants, nor may Foundation funds be used for directive counseling regarding abortion. Violation of this policy would be grounds for immediate cancellation of a grant. [Translation: We do not oppose abortion so therefore we are pro-choice but not necessarily pro-abortion]
Thank you for this opportunity to give you accurate information about March of Dimes policies and activities. We are deeply grateful for your dedication to and support of our lifesaving mission.
Susan Komen, dont forget.
I dropped United Way and MOD twenty years ago. I just “smelled” that they, in one form or another, were complicit. Instead, I support Christ-centered organizations which are pro-life, plus a number of ministries which are evangelistic and benevolent in third world countries.
Susan G Komen comes to mind, too
I’d like to know exactly what kind of prenatal care PP provides? What a lie.
They “are deeply grateful for your dedication to and support of our lifesaving mission.”
"A few local March of Dimes chapters have given local grants to Planned Parenthood exclusively for preconception, prenatal, and interconception education in areas of the country where prenatal care is sparse, non-existent or difficult to access. "
“The web and tentacles of the abortion industry in America are so far reaching that many suspecting and unsuspecting entities are attached”, said Alveda King, a pro-life activist who is the niece of slain former civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
“The March of Dimes with its harvesting and experimenting, and so many other agencies are entangled,” King said. “Some still knowingly or unknowingly are profiting from the grim practices of the abortion machine. Some people still will do anything for money.
“Yes, candidates, business executives and officials and leaders and laypersons of America have often been duped into accepting abortion and its byproducts which include body harvesting of baby body parts and mothers’ tissue as the norm.”
Yeah, right! . . . It would be a cold day in hell before I would give anything to the MOD.
It is hard for a baby being sold for body parts by Planned Parenthood and supported by the MOD to have a "fighting chance."
That's damning enough right there.
