Rep. Peter King, a Republican from New York, says Tea Party Republicans like Texas Sen. Ted Cruz are to blame for the resignation of House Speaker John Boehner.
I think he could of been influenced by the pope being here yesterday and that its just time to end the fighting thats gone on, the needless fighting thats gone on, King said to radio host John Grambling on Friday. But having said that Im disappointed. I think John was as good as a speaker that you could find and hes undermined by people in his own party from day one. Its truly tragic.
King singled out people like Cruz as the culprits of Boehners demise.
Yes. Yes, people like Ted Cruz, who believe in shutting down the government, want to shutdown the Department of Homeland of Security at a time when the ISIS has been highest, added King, saying Boehner couldnt get much done because there was a Democratic president and a Democratic Senate.
Whenever the tough decisions had to be made, John made them, said King. And at every stage though, he was undercut by people in his own party. And theres 40 or 50 and thats it. A small minority, but they were willing to hijack and blackmail the party.
King said California Rep. Kevin McCarthy would probably be speaker, but the Ted Cruz-people would push for an ally as Majority Leader. King said he found it really offensive there was a push to remove Boehner.
He deserved better than this, added King. I feel kinda bad for him. Hes probably better off.
The Long Island Republican, who earlier called Boehners resignation a victory for the crazies on social media, said those who opposed Boehner had unrealistic expectations.
I mean seriously they basically want to shut the government down over the whole issue of Planned Parenthood, King said. The National Right to Life Committee and the most pro-life members of Congress say that shutting down the government would not advance the cause of the anti-abortion movement whatsoever.
But these guys have latched onto that as a reason to, they were going to basically attempt to remove the speaker if he was not able to get Planned Parenthood defunded even though the president would veto the bill and the Senate would not be able to pass it and that in that case we should shut the government down.
And thats why I said it was a victory for the crazies, he concluded.
40-50 republicans could bring down Boehner but with control of the house and Senate they can’t check Obama?
We need to replace a few more.
I said similar when I heard his comments.....he forgot his oath was to the constitution not the orginization.
How ludicrous to blame Ted Cruz. Boehner is the reason for Boehner’s downfall - no one else. I guess we’re all crazies now - huh? Boenher needed to go a long time ago and now if we can get rid of McConnell and replace both with strong conservatives - things might change in this country. However, I just hope it isn’t too late to undo all the damage this regime has wrought.
Well, I don’t have much faith the next speaker will be any better, but I will take pleasure where I can get it.
And the infantile caterwauling by these arrogant pricks is certainly very enjoyable. Music to my ears.

Liberal yankee jack-ass
The Tea Party is just booting the real “terrorists” out of office
I had not heard about that meeting but the exact words I said to my wife last nite were “none of this would be happening without Ted Cruz....he has been meeting with conservative house membership and pushing all this.
king is the crazy here.
I’m sick of hearing that Obama will just veto legislation he doesn’t like. Its not the job of republicans to worry about whether Obama vetoes something.
They should be leaving a legacy that shows that they at least tried rather than one that shows Obama as a beloved leader who only vetoed 4 pieces of legislation.
The GOPelimination starts now.
No. America is better off.
If that's what it takes, then yes.
The other way is to surround their buildings and dare them to come out. Your choice fat ass.
The hocum that he’d PLANNED to resign; a big fat lie.
All he had to do was continue to push and rubber stamp the Rats’ agenda, and catch the fat manila envelope$ that came over the transom. But he felt the pressure building. He could hear the rattling pitchforks, and smell the burning kerosene. And he decided to skeedaddle.
i think most people agree. Its going to be:
This is a very frustrated little man. Actually Trump will snack on this nobody rino.
