A senior editor at the New York Times became embroiled in a testy back-and-forth exchange with a Jewish pro-Israel reader of the publication, who had criticized it for launching a website aimed at tracking how Jewish lawmakers are voting on the Iranian nuclear deal, according to emails obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
The Times Jew tracker was described as anti-Semitic and offensive by pro-Israel officials who slammed the paper for feeding into stereotypes about Jewish power and money.
The controversial chart listed all lawmakers who voted against the nuclear deal and highlighted in yellow whether or not that person was Jewish. The chart also included the number of Jewish persons living in each lawmakers district.
Following a report by the Free Beacon on the tracker, the New York Times altered the site by removing the column identifying members as Jewish. The paper also edited the report to remove overt references to the relationship between each lawmakers religion and his position on the Iran deal.
Despite altering the website to address the material critics viewed as offensive, a senior New York Times editor praised the tracker and fought back against one Jewish critic who had written to express outrage over the post.
Are you so ignorant that you dont understand the historical significance of what youre doing? Are you so tone deaf? Why dont you include addresses so that peoples homes can be attacked? wrote the reader, who requested anonymity, to Greg Brock, a senior Times editor.
My parents were Holocaust survivors and the first thing the Nazis wanted to know is: where are the Jews? This merely furthers the classic anti-Semitic trope of dual loyalty, the reader added

The New York Times where political correctness is tantamount to a form of religious custom, makes no distinction regarding Jew-Tracker as a form of political incorrectness as hard on the ears it may be.
Anyone who has an ounce of knowledge of Nazi history and the anti-Semitism in Germany during Hitler’s regime, knows exactly the whys and wherefores of publishing such an article.
It is meant to intimidate the voices of opposition to Obama’s deal with Iran, by trying to tie in all the opposition as simply a Jewish cabal. It is very transparent to anyone with a brain and a sense of honesty, the latter of which the NYT is sadly lacking.
Similar tactics have been used in the past on Catholic leaders, especially in the anti-abortion movement. Neither is acceptable, but at least the Catholics in America have no history of annihilation of the population as have the Jewish people.
The NYT ought to apologize, but it will not do so.
The ‘Jewish cabal’ thing pisses me off regardless which ‘side’ is doing it.
NYT is a Jewish owned and run publication. Just a spat between factions that the rest of us should stay out of.
The New York Times is wrong on this one...
Makes me wonder if Greg Brock is related to David Brock, the vicious, twisted, self-hating faggot polemicist.
Oh and he’s the founder of Media Matters as well.
Actually it's a publicly traded company run by a Christian, Episcopalian. Largest shareholder by a big margin is Carlos Slim, a Maronite Catholic with about 80 times the holdings of the #2 shareholder.
anti-Semitism in Germany in the 30s and 40s, the Times kind of took a pass on reporting that.

One of the easiest ways of determining antisemitism is lack of consistency. Along with Jewish legislators, the chart listed Jewish population in legislators districts, ironically highlighted in yellow. Can someone link me to the chart of the votes of legislators with large Muslim populations?
You’re couldn’t be more wrong if you think it’s a mere spat, a family thing. The difference between these Jews is a profoundly deep philosophical schism as if thy were both on separate sides of the Grand Canyon. The NYT Jews are Jews genealogically certainly not religiously not even culturally.
Why? Because the safety of the Chosen People and the Holy Land mean nothing to you?
No, culturally (spiritually! in their hearts and minds and bodies and money and thoughts and lives!) today’s New York, Philly, Washington and inner city Miami and retired Jews are SOCIALISTS with a family and genealogical tradition going to the pogroms and collectivism (and power at times) of the Russian Empire going back to Constantinople and the Roman diaspora. (Loss of the Temple.)
They are socialists to the core, and even the street signs and markers in New York City “adore” and honor the communist newspapers and writers of 1880-1925, the communists in the USSR and their “labor” and anti-capitalist supports 1925-2015.
Today’s liberal “jews” have no religion. The conservative branches? Absolutely. But the 90% who are secular liberals? Nothing.
No Greg Brock is not related to David Brock, who was an orphan adopted by the Brock family in Texas. David has a sister, but I’m not sure whether or not she is a Brock by bloodline or not. I doubt it. David’s well-to-do father died back in the 90s if I recall correctly.
Thanks for your time and the info.
I’m always surprised when a name pops up from a long-timer that I don’t recall ever having seen before.
I’ll look forward to your posts in the days ahead...they might be some busy days!
Note my post 9. Sulzberger Jr., an Episcopalian who was never Jewish has been publisher for over 20 years. A non practicing Jewish dad is the “Jewish” connection, and depending on the source he owns from less than 1% to 3.5%. Carlos Slim, a Catholic from a Lebanese/Mexican family owns around 17%, with no one else over about a quarter percent. But they do employ Jews, I guess that does it.
Thanks GOPJ.
Well, as far as AntiSemitism is concerned a Jew remains a Jew no matter what Church he attends. Speaking of the Nazis, again. Jews that converted to Catholicism or any religion as diametrically opposite Judaism as possible even eight, nine generations couldn’t save themselves as non-Jews. The Nazis required ten generations on both sides with baptismal records for every generation to be considered Aryan. Anyone with a Jew in one generation or another were no less diluted from Judaism than some Hasidic Jew. They both perished equally as Jews.
That’s true. The Nazis didn’t care about conversion, but even the Spanish Inquisition required at least 4 generations to be shed being a “New Christian” and it’s restrictions.
