The National Park Service announced Monday that the use of electronic cigarettes is now banned anywhere tobacco smoking is prohibited in the national parks.
Existing National Park Service policies regarding tobacco smoking were originally issued in 2003 and later revised in 2009, according to a National Park Service internal memo. The new policy was issued in an effort to "protect employees and park visitors from the health hazards and annoyances associated with exposure to environmental tobacco smoke, commonly known as secondhand smoke, which is a known human carcinogen," the memo stated.
The use of e-cigarettes will not be allowed in any government owned or leased vehicle including heavy equipment, watercraft or aircraft in the park. Vaping will also be prohibited in national park concession facilities and other buildings.

There is no water in e cigs. Its propylene glycol, glycerin, flavoring, and various concentrations of nicotine.
Any water in that mix makes a distinct POPPING noise which is alarming.
And there is no carbon monoxide or polycyclic hydrocarbons to inhale and those are the most noxious agents in analog cigs. But there is little to no tax revenue from e cigs so they must be banned.
“So now, they are forbidding a fake version, or something that doesnt cause a problem anyway.”
People are quitting cigarettes for e-cigarettes, in droves. So if they don’t demonize the e-cig users too, they lose a scapegoat they spent a long time and a lot of money building up.
No vaping? Does this mean old faithful is put of buisness?
I feel so much safer now. :-)
Have to keep the ‘wrong sort’ of people out, right?
e-cigarettes bad, abortion good
Women can do whatever they want with their own bodies, except when they can't.
I once went into a restaurant in Kansas. It had two sections, one nonsmoking and another smoking.
The two sections were separate rooms. I walked through the nonsmoking section to get to the door of the smoking section. The smoking section had a ventilation system independent of any other part of the restaurant.
The place wasn’t crowded, only 6 or 8 people in the nonsmoking section. There were about 16 or so people in the smoking section.
My food had just arrived when a woman sat down and immediately began bitching and complaining about the smoke and smokers.
She continued to complain the entire time I was there.
You remind me of that woman.
Have a nice day.
Smoking represents some sort of liberty thing to the government with people doing the thing that government has tole them they shouldn’t. Therefore everything that looks like smoking must be ruthlessly suppressed. Soon chewing on a pencil must be banned on all federal and most city property.
Than you support a bar being able to put a sign on the door saying “We Allow Smoking in This Establishment”? Then you are free to enter or not of your own choice.
“Second hand smoke doesnt even cause cancer. They played with the stats here to suit their agenda. Even the WHO from the UN doesnt call it a carcinogen.
So now, they are forbidding a fake version, or something that doesnt cause a problem anyway.”
__________
Precisely. Additionally, the govt fears loss of revenue if people switch from cigarettes to e-cigs. So they are using the same lie to muscle e-cig makers they way they muscled “Big tobacco”. Heck, if the govt wanted to stop citizens from dying, they would ban tobacco outright. Nope, it’s a false argument to make money...”It might kill you, but give me 25 cents a smoke and I’ll let you”
now wait a minute, didn’t second hand smoke kill off all the dinosaurs?
You could probably even get an abortion in a national park.
"Outdoor smoking bans in parks can at least somewhat be justified by the risk of fires, but vapor products pose no more of a fire risk than a cellphone battery," Conley told U.S. News. "This behavior is shameful and any enforcement of the ban will constitute a great misuse of government resources. The National Park Service should leave ex-smokers alone and let them camp and hike in peace."
Amen.
Can’t. Doesn’t exist.
Marijuana smoke, by contrast, is not only tolerated but welcomed.
