Earlier today, Pope Francis spoke outside the White House. In his speech, he addressed several things, such as the importance of religious freedom and the need to protect the planet.
Secretary of State John Kerry, who is Catholic, tweeted his approval of the pontiff's remarks, including those about "protecting the vulnerable." The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) couldn't help but (gently) remind Kerry that "vulnerable" includes the unborn. Kerry has publicly stated that he disagrees with the Church's teaching on abortion, and has consistently voted in support of abortion rights.
Heh. Sassy.
In 2004, John Kerry was prohibited from receiving communion due to his stance on abortion rights.
It's nice to see a Church body stand up for its fundamental beliefs, even if that means publicly rebuking high-profile governmental figures.

I just wish the people who are so eager to help the preborn were as enthusiastic about helping the postborn—poor children, handicapped, homeless and children of unemployed.

You claim conservatives do NOT support with their lives and their donations and their charities the “post-born” survivors of your 63 million taxpayers the democrats have murdered since 1973?

Is your account hijacked or did a 2005 FReeper just post a pro abort talking point?

Who do you think helps the post-born, the baby-killers? Do you think that baby-killers are going to help those who survive past birth?
No, the same people who are trying to save babies are trying to save children and adults.

You can't help the less fortunate, though, if they're never allowed to breathe air. So it's up to the pro-lifer to at least try to get them to that point. There are many churches [and orders of nuns, etc.] who help with the poor, and there are many pro-life peoples who aid with their own dollars (and time) too. I wish there was more help though too. I'd love to see the poor more welcomed in general.

This canard is tired, overused, and worthless.
Like society was unable to cope for the 6000 years before Roe vs Wade because there were these millions of un-cared-for children who survived?
Like you know what is going on the the minds of every person who defends life, that they are pro-birth but not pro-life?
Like being murdered is better than at least having a shot at life.
Like you are qualified to cast condemnation on people you have never met for their failings, where of course you excel mightily.

Thank you, a worthy response.

Why the long face, John? Kerry is no more a Catholic than Yassir Arafat. (Of course Yassir’s brother, Nossir is a catholic.
