The Associated Press made quite a notable change today in how it refers to individuals with skeptical views about climate change science.
The AP announced the change on its blog today, explaining the changes:
Our guidance is to use climate change doubters or those who reject mainstream climate science and to avoid the use of skeptics or deniers.

RE: AP To Stop Referring To Climate Change Doubters As ‘Skeptics,’ ‘Deniers’
OK, I’ll bite, what new term are they going to cook up this time?
We're gonna need a bigger camera..........................
OOPS! Wrong thread!........................
Doubters..
.
Interesting.
Are the people at AP trying to be a little more fair and balanced on the issue??
But then, these are the same people who won’t call illegal aliens using the term illegal aliens.
Local newspapers and broadcasters are responsible for the AP’s continued existence. They must be pressured to drop their subscriptions, especially as printing yesterday’s news tomorrow is a business dead-end.
Oh yeah, that's so much better. So much more unbiased.
Pffft...
RE: Doubters..
How’s that different in meaning from the word Skeptic?
I’m looking forward to hearing them refer to climate change believers as climate frauds.
“what new term are they going to cook up this time?”
Their not, their probably just going to discuss this “science” as if it has now been irrefutably proven and only report on what is going to happen moving forward. IOW ignoring and refusing to report on anyone doubting it. Just my 2 cent.
How about using “People who understand history and can apply logic” or just “Not Commie/Pinko/Socialist/Nanny State Liars”
Pro-life = Anti-abortion
Pro-abortion = Pro-choice
Words mean EVERYTHING when you have an agenda!
“Hows that different in meaning from the word Skeptic?”

None to anyone with a brain but apparently a lot to the deep thinkers at AP.
.
Lol! I know what thread you were going for. Nice! Ha ha!
Heretics.
Since some goofball wants them prosecuted, I’m going to go with”Future Prisoner”?
I don’t know, I kinda like “Deniers” or “Skeptics” a lot better than the accruate: “Scientifically informed and functionally literate”. . .it just doesn’t have much of a ring to it.
The AP is loaded with reality deniers.
I have no problem with “skeptics”, as that is exactly what we are, although perhaps the term has become tainted through rhetorical use by the pro-AGW crowd.
I have, and continue to, deeply resent the term “deniers” with its obvious allusions to despicable Holocaust deniers.
