That’s true. And he does lump all Americans into the same group. Greedy, bad.
I think he is under the illusion that we Americans are all millionaires, which the little guy in the “Quiet Man” said 60 years ago :)
It’s been believed for a long time.
Not socialism
Not even charity.
It is capitalism.
Sure there are inequalities. Sure there still is poverty. But it offers opportunity, and opportunity is the best weapon against being poor. Jesus requires that we treat other human beings as if they were our brothers. I don't think he expected them to become leeches.
