(Via Morning Consult) A strong performance in last weeks Republican presidential debate has raised former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorinas public profile, but not nearly enough to cut into real estate mogul Donald Trumps lead over the rest of the GOP field.
Trump takes 32 percent of the vote among self-identified Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, according to a new Morning Consult tracking poll far ahead of retired neurosurgeon Ben Carsons 12 percent and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bushs 11 percent. Fiorina finishes in fourth position, at 6 percent, just ahead of Sens. Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Ted Cruz (Texas), who clock in with 5 percent each.
[…] The Morning Consult survey polled 4,033 registered voters for an overall margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points. A subsample of 1,551 self-identified Republicans and Republican-leaning independents carries a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points (link)
Very Nice!
With Carly “surging” like this, she’ll catapult to the top of the heap in about 45 years, give or take.
He does! HA!
Great graphic!
1 yes, 2 no, 3 maybe
I’m sure this will get the kind of attention CNN’s outlier poll showing Trump down 8% did.
(and yes, /s)
you know, I totally agree with that.....
Rush said today-—but I didn’t hear a source-—that the latest GOOe is pure denial that the polls are right. LOL-—that’s OUR schtick-—sayin “don’t believe the polls.
Kasich has a lot of money so he is probably in till the first primary.
After IA/NH, I see Bush and Huck dropping.
No. I have already gone on record that the way he set this up he will have it pretty much sewn up by Super Tues, because even if he loses one, he will always be second. If it’s a proportional state he gets delegates even when he loses. But no one is poised to win more than one state (say Kasich in OH).
or the ever popular "the only poll that matters is election day". HA! 8^)
Well the election is over a year away and lots can happen. Personally I dont think Trump can be overtaken. He’s a fighter with sustaining qualities, media accessible across the spectrum, will get dem crossover voters and who else is there in the field to dethrone him? If the GOPe tries to send in Romney as relief pitcher Trump will have him for lunch.
the 0-4 percenters should all drop out. They haven’t gone anywhere, and don’t appear able to actually move up, so they are just wasting time and money, and muddying the waters.
Works for me!
That would leave Trump (32%), Carson (12%), Bush (11%), Fiorina (6%), Cruz (5%), Rubio (5%).
Much more focused, more time for questions.
That's pretty impressive, no matter how you slice it.
The remaining 16% is split between Jim Gilmore, Artis Gilmore and The Gilmore Girls.
