Carly Fiorinas campaign is defending her record as the CEO of Hewlett-Packard.
In a post published on Medium, Fiorinas Deputy Campaign Manager Sarah Isgur Flores took on criticism about the candidate, pushing back on recent reports characterizing the retired tech executive's tenure as a failure.
Theres a lot of armchair CEOing going on around here. And some folks seem to have taken the Invent motto to mean they get to invent their own facts, Isgur Flores writes, referring to the HP motto during Fiorinas tenure. Fiorina was fired in 2005. Isgur Flores then goes on to list 10 things she says are false, repeating some of that same statistics that Fiorina has been citing in her campaign literature and on the trail and that her detractors say are misleading.
She also attacked the most prominent of Fiorina's critics by name.
On Sunday, POLITICO Magazine published an opinion essay from Yale School of Management professor Jeffrey Sonnenfield, who has written numerous harsh reviews of Fiorina's stewardship of HP. It was titled Why I Still Think Fiorina Was a Terrible CEO.
In the five years that Fiorina was at Hewlett-Packard, the company lost over half its value, he wrote. The only stock pop under Fiorinas reign was the 7 percent jump the moment she was fired following a unanimous board vote. After the firing, HP shuttered or sold virtually all Fiorina had bought.

Buh bye, iCarly
Snarley FioRINO has had her time in the limelight. Her party is over. Take off the make up and say good night.
{”Take off the make up and say good night.”}
Oh, was she wearing makeup? It didn’t help.
Carly, at what point did you know that those working for you were bribing Russian officials to close deals? Was it during your first, second or third year as CEO? Were you part of the discussions regarding how much to bribe these officials, and if you weren’t, why did you run your company so badly that you had no direct knowledge of your employee’s actions? Are you actually claiming that no one informed you during the follow on years as CEO that these bribes were being paid for deals your company was bragging to shareholders about?
She did so well at Lucent that they were bought by Alcatel.
And let us not forget, she backs the DREAM act, supports Common Core, is okay with homosexual marriage when it is termed “civil union”, was endorsed by GOProud the “republican” homosexual activist group, is pro-abortion, and whole heartedly thinks global warming is one hundred percent real.
But she’s so conservative, I’ve been told, because her DADDY was a “principled conservative judge.”
Apparently some idiots believe that conservative credentials are passed on by whom your parents were.
Dynastic voting, some people think it’s a great idea!
I don’t really care how good or bad she was at HP, what I care about is would she stop the flood of fraudulently documented foreigners.
My conclusion is, No.
I will not vote for anyone unwilling to uphold the rule of law.
No DREAM Act implementation because it never passed Congress.
It is not an Act.
It’s a fraud.
Presidents don’t get to make up laws on their own.
No changing the laws to benefit those breaking them.
Period.
As a tech guy (going way back to the early 90s), who followed Fiorina closely, the idea that criticism of her tenure is revisionist history is laughable.
She was loudly and prominently panned in the IT world, especially after the Compaq merger - which was a total disaster.
"Fiorina camp pushes back on criticism of HP tenure"
is having the intended effect of deflecting from Fiorina's failure as a leader and instead steering me into believing she's tough and in charge by challenging the criticism.
Nope. Because...
Sorry, but IT IS OVER. You had your 15 minutes. The media/GOP are now pushing Rubio - be Trump will also put him out of his misery with one step of his foot, considering just how PATHETIC he is.
I had almost forgotten about her. Silly me.
CF lacks vision. For example, the PC market was very competitive when she led the merger with Compaq. Well, a couple of years later competitor IBM sold off it's PC business to Lenovo and exited the market.
Also, the Compaq/DEC merger was not fully settled (the two cultures never really gelled) when she made the move at HP to merge with Compaq. She does not have a good business mind, nor has vision.
As a politician, we have only her failed attempt at a senate race in CA. Not much to stand on really....business record not positive, political career not positive. Why should she be POTUS again?
Carly Fiorina made several false, misleading and unsubstantiated claims in responding to questions about Hewlett-Packards involvement with a foreign subsidiary that sold products in Iran.
Destroy Planned Parenthood. Make Carly their CEO.
