EU ministers are to meet to try to resolve a dispute over how to relocate 120,000 asylum seekers who have recently arrived in Europe.
A group of central European states is resisting calls for EU members to accept mandatory quotas.
Hungary, which takes one of the strongest lines on the issue, has said European borders are under threat......
If disagreements persist, ministers could force a deal through by a majority vote, rather than a unanimous decision, writes the BBC's Europe correspondent Chris Morris.
Enough countries are in favour of the proposal to form a majority-but huge efforts are being made to find a compromise....
Hungary has granted its army extra powers to deal with mirgrants, allowing them to use rubber bullets, tear gas and guns which can deploy netting.
Migrants, said Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban, "are overrunning us".
"They're not just banging on the door, they're breaking the doors down on top of us. Our borders are under threat. Hungary is under threat and so is the whole of Europe."....

Barack Obama and other Democrats have advocated quotas for the US to take people in of 65-thousand or more.
Nigel Farage, leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party and European Parliament member, told the BBC last week most of these people are not from Syria and not in danger of persecution.
Farage is calling for an Australian style approach, housing these people offshore on islands and vetting them to find out who the real refugees are from persecution and only allowing those people into Europe.
“Relocate” their asses back to Africa.
Problem solved.
What Greece has shown is that people can't vote themselves out of the EU. Those they vote for sell out to their EU masters as soon as they get in office.
And Kiev and some other countries still want in? Are they insane?
Taking in these refugess is like filling up your car ata agas station after you’ve poured gas on yourself and lot up a cigarette. Its not going o end well.

If the EU tries to do this, it could be the end of the EU. Merkel needs to be removed from office before she drags down now only Germany, but also her neighbors.
The problem with the quotas, it’s just for starters, 160,000.
Juncker wants a permanent solution for what he refers to as “future crisis situations involving refugees”
So once he gets that, when the next wave of the Muslim hordes comes in - apparently there’s nearly 20 million of them just waiting - when they start their trek, the EU nations will be bound to accept even more into their countries and so on....it’ll be endless.
Juncker is talking about binding quotas for now and in the future.
It’s the end of the EU if he pulls this stunt with the strong-arm tactics.
The media loves to depict these refugees as docile, war-weary victims of strife, escaping unlivable homelands.
Yet watching the news clips...they are anything but.
They are demanding, argumentative, overbearing, frighteningly aggressive.....demanding shelter, benefits, total control, and eradication of thousands of years of culture which “offends” their Muslim sensibilities.
Out of an abundance of evil, avarice and greed (and get-rich-quick schemes)...they target the countries they plan to control.
They know which countries have the best benefits, and refuse to be sent anywhere else.
Thank God Europe is onto them....and hasn’t bought the “victim” scam.
The quota idea is bad a priori.
None of the “refugees” will want to go to any of those states where the pickings are slimmer. They and their activist lawyers will sue to prevent them from being relocated within the EU, tying matters up in court for years (at the same time functionally disabling the court systems).
It’ll never work.
Australia was able to stem the flow of people on boats through its policy of diversion with few coming now.
But the policy has kept thousands on the islands in legal limbo for years because the Aussies are still giving their migrants the right to use their legal system to appeal for asylum.
The lawyers would definitely be involved if the EU did it, but such a policy might stop migrants from coming in the future.
Australia has the great advantage of NOT being reachable by a land route. That alone simplifies matter immensely.
I’m sure that any of those kept segregated on the islands are free to leave (go back to wherever) anytime they want to. So their whining does not impress.
Giving asylum seekers access to the court system is a huge mistake, no matter where. Activist lawyers and judges have the system rigged such that they make it almost impossible to kick anyone out.
I don't mind the end of the EU. It should go away.
I do mind the end of the individual countries and cultures of Europe. All of which are worth saving.
That isn't even mentioning the physical beauty Europe holds which radical Islam will, without doubt, destroy in time. Beautiful architecture, land marks, etc. It will all be destroyed either through war or the way they destroy symbols of idoltry, etc.
I find is hard to disagree with anything you say.
It’s true.
When Donald Tusk, the co-Dictator of the EU announces that Brussels needs to find a way to deal with allowing the MILLIONS that want to come....this will result in the end of the EU. I can imagine quite a number of countries just saying “no chance, we’re out of here”

This is the most alarming aspect, the Islamic Centuries old wish, destroying Europa and our civilisation making it an Islamic Continent Circa 7th Century.
The traitors within the EU, either don’t know our history or don’t care about our history. I can’t believe that they’re so stupid they don’t know our history, therefore they’re beneath contempt.
