Wisconsin governor Scott Walkers reported decision to drop out of the Republican presidential primary shocked at least one rival.
Holy cow, Senator Ted Cruz (R., Texas) replied when he learned that Walker plans to end his bid for the White House. As recently as April, a Cruz ally was predicting that Walker would make a strong bid in the Texas primary. Walker led the field there in February.
The New York Times reports that Walker will make the announcement at a 6 p.m. news conference in Madison, Wics. The short answer is money, a Walker ally said explaining the decision. Hes made a decision not to limp into Iowa.
The Washington Post reported last week that Walkers donors were getting nervous and wanted him to shake up his campaign staff. Many backers have directed their ire at campaign manager Rick Wiley, who some Walker supporters believe expanded the staff too quickly and has failed to calibrate spending during the summer fundraising season, according to the report. A recent count put the number of full-time Walker campaign staff at around 90, and there have been no cutbacks in salaries as there were earlier this summer in former Florida governor Jeb Bushs operation.
Interesting. From my posting history what kind of bigot am I? Racist, sexist, homophobe??? Just because I said Walker looks like a Mormon Missionary? Help me out here. How is that in any way bigoted. You posted a picture of 4 neatly dressed and very good looking and very young men and seem offended that I would say that Scott Walker could pass for one of those guys if he came to my door in a white shirt and skinny black tie.
And that makes me a bigot?
He's never been a Mormon and his father is a Baptist preacher. So keep showing your ignorance.
You don't have to be a Mormon to look like a Mormon Missionary. All you need to do is look like you're 20, be skinny and very well groomed, wear a white shirt, black pants and a tie (apparently skinny and black is no longer a requirement) and ride a bike around.
Except for the bike Scott Walker sure could fool me if he rang my doorbell.
If Mormon Missionaries rode Harley's then that would clinch it.
I just pinged you because I thought the conversation was bizarre.
It would also be another point proving you not to be a bigot. Can’t help but notice what you know about. There aren’t many around here with your credentials to discuss the subject.
I can’t figure out what kind of bigot I’m being accused of being.
I thought you were being accused of being an anti-Mormon bigot. Perhaps you’re just an anti-Walker bigot, in which case you have founded an entire area of bigotry all by yourself.
FWIW, I think the guys on bikes look like Mormon missionaries. I always thought it was weird having some 19 year old introduce himself as ‘elder’ something-or-other. I mean, the only people he was elder than were high schoolers.
But, we were never anti-Walker. He just got supplanted by Cruz. I actually had Walker on my list.
My point was simply that he just had a baby face. Still has it. He would have a tough time convincing America that he could face down Putin with a face like that.
Cruz and Trump look like they could stand toe to toe with our enemies. And image is everything. If Maggie Thatcher had looked like Christie Brinkley the Russians might have won the cold war.
He does look real young and he speaks softly. Am I a criminal for saying that?
You’re an ageist!
I’d kill to have his youthful appearance.
But then I’d end up in prison and pretty boys don’t fare well there.
...and redacted; too!
Pick your battles...
I'll get back to ya, after I research this a bit...
HMMMmmm...
I saw two of them in Wal-Mart in Greenfield, IN yesterday.
They had patterned ties on.
(Not these two...)
Running for President is 90% mental.
The other half is physical.
