Ben Carson appeared with Sean Hannity tonight to clarify what he meant when he said I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation.
On Meet the Press yesterday, Carson said that he doesnt believe Muslims should be president because their faith does not align with the Constitution. He was criticized left and right, but his campaign defended the remarks and insisted the people are with them on this.
On Hannity tonight, Carson said that we do not put people at the leadership of our country whose faith might interfere with them carrying out the duties of the Constitution, which he insisted applies to every faith, not just Islam.
But he still singled out Islam in particular, saying any Muslim candidate should reject the more controversial tenets of their faith and accept the American way of life, which he assumed would make them heretics to the faith.
Hannity noticed he was ever-so-slightly tempering his earlier remarks and asked, Did you mean to say radical Islamist? Carson said, That was implied.
Watch the video below, via Fox News:
Yes, both Carson and Trump have allowed the media to choose the subject.
Bad move imo.
The burning issue in America isn’t Hussein’s “religion” or whether someone who worships at a mosque can run for President.
The burning issue(s) are the economy, our weakened military and our moral and social fabric being destroyed. All three’s woes are due directly to Hussein’s true religion of self-worship.
Ben, Donald, and the rest of you: focus on that, please.
Since there is no Islam without Shariah (i.e., theocracy), Dr. Carson hasn’t changed anything in his stance against a Muslim prez. Quite clever if I may say so. And I approve.
Ibrahim Hooper for President?
Huma Abedin?
Just for the record..Mohammed Ali was given a draft deferment cuz he is a mussie....end of all talk about defending mussies!
oooops requested a deferment...his conviction was overturned.
