The New York Times is reporting that Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is withdrawing from the 2016 race:
Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin has concluded he no longer has a path to the Republican presidential nomination and plans to drop out of the 2016 campaign, according to three Republicans familiar with his decision, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

“The short answer is money,” said a supporter of Mr. Walker’s who was briefed on the decision. “He’s made a decision not to limp into Iowa.”
There will be a live press conference at 6pm EST. Walker was seen as a strong contender for the Republican nomination, given his backstory and record as the governor of Wisconsin. He was leading in the polls in Iowa, but saw a precipitous decline in support throughout the summer. The latest CNN/ORC poll seems to have been the final nail in the coffin, as Walker barely drew 1 percent in the polls.
Gov. Walker is the second candidate to drop out of the race. The first was former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who suspended his campaign earlier this month.

His first debate performance was really bad, had the low energy and deer in the headlights look of Jeb.
It's unfortunate, because he was one of the three I thought could actually start reversing the crazy tide of statist crap we are so overwhelmed with.
Hopefully the other weak ones will drop (especially Lindsay).

I agree about the consultants, but Trump’s flipped and flopped a ton. He gets a pass and the one candidate who actually did something about the real threat to America, the Deep State, isn’t?

I think Walker has earned the right to be a contender, but I also think it would the right choice to drop, save the money for a better candidate, and support the man he thinks can do us the most good. I think he will.
Well I agree with not rubbing it in but she should stay away from the racing track, that’s all I’m saying.

I agree with you. I have met him in a small group setting. I think he is a good man who would have made a fine President.
I was an early Walker supporter, sorry it turned out this way. He’s gutsy, determined but also able to see the writing on the wall. From the beginning, I worried about his lack of charisma and plodding speech style. He remains a standup guy in my opinion, even though I wrote him off a month ago for the 2016 Presidential election.

We just had a radical community organizer with no record of achievement and no executive/management experience be elected twice to the Presidency with the two highest vote totals in our history. He was not a celebrity, but he was a minority. He was not vetted by the MSM nor by the Reps who were afraid of being called racists.
Trump is a celebrity for a reason. He is a highly successful, wealthy global businessman who has built a real estate empire. He is also a successful author and TV personality. He has a record of achievement in the private sector,
Scott Walker was not a good candidate. He couldn't sell himself. He started out fairly high in the polls and then just started dropping like a stone. When he first announced, I felt he would be my candidate. I especially liked the way he linked immigration to the American worker and his vow that this was his first priority. At the end, all he could say about immigration was to secure the border, and then let's talk about everything else like birthright citizenship, deportation, etc. later.
Walker was a prisoner of the consultant class, including George Will's wife. He got lots of money from the Koch brothers and the corporate paymasters. In sum, Walker was a major disappointment who did not know how to tell his story or be himself. Blaming it on the education system is a cop out.
By the way, what is the "real threat to America, the Deep State?" Are you referring to the welfare state? Crony capitalism?
I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Walker. Lots more to come in this election cycle and the next administration. :-)
