The Donald is getting support from all quarters but lets not leave out the low information voters. Trump will score big with them. They like his bluster, his non-PC attitude plus Trump has name recognition from being on TV so much

Two of my life long best buddies, who have been staunch low info dems, and major irritants to me, have spoken very favorable about Trump. I am certain there is no other repub they would consider.

I was watching a Jackie Gleason show when it hit me....they like him for the same thing....his bluster.
He always had the audience eating out of his hand. "the Great One" (prior to Levin) always ended on a good note. No matter how big the fight was, most Honeymooners shows ended up with him hugging Alice saying "Baby, you're the greatest!"

This is my thinking as well. Trump is a compromise. He gives us
some of what we want. He cannot be bought. And he could actually win for the reason you stated...
Ideal situation? No. But it's perhaps the best "out" we've got. If he makes Cruz his veep, he'll bring in a built-in ground operation.
