Come to think of it, you're right.
The words are pronounced the same but written differently for gender ( the left radical uses the character for female in the case of female ). 她 for female and 他 for male.
With this idiocy, how are they going to learn a foreign language like Chinese? Are they going to demand that the Chinese change the way they write too?
