For instance if we take money for planned parent hood out of the Federal budget which would be fine with 80% of the voting population and then ozero shuts down the govt. because he got mad and didn't get his way,in essence "we made him do it" which is bullshot, who really shut down the friggin' govt.? NOT US HE DID.

Yet the consensus on our side is we can't do it because we will get the blameTtalk about a bunch of ballless congress critters on our side!!

It goes back even further. There is no government shutdown when Congress does not approve more spending. The military still protects us, airplanes do not fall from the sky, the mail still gets delivered. ESSENTIAL US GOVERNMENT SERVICES CONTINUE!!!!!!!!!!!

Possibly the most inconvenient issue with what the media calls a government shutdown is that Bully Thugs from Park Services get paid to put up Barrycades in order to keep 90-year-old WW II veterans from getting close to memorials.

And if this government shutdown means a Planned Parenthood abortion has to be re-scheduled for a later date, well, that's how it goes.

I may be mistaken but the last time govt shutdown was a threat by Obama, Ted Cruz was on TV saying that the President was the only person who could shut down the govt. The Republicans refuse to make that point so that the public is aware of the falseness of the accusation that it is they who are forcing the shutdown. Either Obama gets his way or out comes his pen, phone, and edicts.

I'd really "shut down the government" by permanently eliminating about half the departments of the executive branch.
