On Wednesday, the story of Ahmed Mohamed erupted online. The 14-year-old from Irving, Texas, was suspended from MacArthur High School and arrested after he brought a homemade clock to school that a teacher mistook for a bomb.
After the story went viral and gained widespread support, Mohamed's family created a LaunchGood initiative on Wednesday seeking to add some cold hard cash to the teenager's newfound fame. The #IStandWithAhmed campaign hopes to raise money to support Mohamed and others like him with a scholarship to pursue their education in a STEM field.
Within hours of its creation, the campaign raised more than $7,500 and appears well-positioned to reach a stated $100,000 goal by the end of the fundraising period in 27 days.
According to the campaign, 50% of the funds will be allocated to Mohamed, while the other 50% will be given to other promising youths toward a one-year scholarship to MakerSpace. . .

Poor little Ahmed Mohamed and his father need funding for their next project which is rumored to be reinventing soda pop vending machines. The thing that will make these soda vending machines identifiable is that they’ll all have one of Ahmed’s *clocks* affixed to the front of them. The $100,000 will ensure that enough are built to place one in every major U.S. city. They’ll be labeled on the front with “We stand with Ahmed” soda company. The Obama regime will have one placed in all federal buildings to show solidarity with Muslims. Never mind that the parts inside glow in the dark and will be stamped “made in Iran” written in Farsi.
Wow, his family is really milking this story. What a setup.
It looked to me like the White House invitation was actually recorded and placed on hold until the incident was completed.

Sounds like a cover up for a smart aleck stunt by a kid who thought that it would be cool (and maybe even as a “Muslim kid”) to do a “bomb.” It was just the guts of a clock of course, but even it would have been inert and unable to draw attention had he not plugged it in. Which he did in a different class than the science class which was supposed to have been the one where the project was to be presented.
How much of this will America need to witness before it dawns on America that we aren’t in our grandfathers’ Kansas anymore. No we shouldn’t go off hating on all Muslims in America. Yes we should take a sharp right turn on what kind of conduct we tolerate. If the kid was one of the “good Muslims” (let’s go under that assumption for discussion’s sake) then he should have known better than to pull such a stunt. If Obama had his mind on straight he would have told the kid stop doing things like that, it reflects badly on the “cause of diversity” or some such reference, rather than ginning up an excuse.

When news gets out that Ahmed cheated on his assignment by transferring the components of a Radio Shack electric alarm clock into a briefcase, then claiming he built it from scratch, a lot of folks will have egg on their faces from Obama on down.
