Gay Michigan Pastor Forced to Resign Shares Story in Bay Area

A Methodist pastor who was told to resign from his Michigan church because of his sexuality visited the Bay Area to share his story.

Rev. Benjamin Hutchinson spoke to the Twin Towers Methodist Church in Alameda on Friday and discussed the life-changing moment when he was told to resign because he is gay. He said he has decided to take his story on the road and change minds along the way.

Hutchinson said he was forced to resign from Cassopolis United Methodist Church after he told the bishop about his gay partner. According to the United Methodist Church's guidelines, that makes him unfit to lead.

Since the resignation, Hutchinson has talked to churches around the country and preaching the gospel of inclusivity.

"I still have my faith," he said. "My career had been taken away. A paycheck as I would say."

Hutchinson married his partner days after his dismissal in July and now relies solely on his income. He hopes the issue of sexuality being an issue for ministers withing the Methodist Church is discussed and resolved at the church's general conference.

Or if a Catholic Priest was removed because he had a side job providing abortions!

Used to be, but now I suspect the Catholic Church will offer the abortion in the narthex as a post modern sign of compassion and acceptance. /sarcasm

It is only a matter of time before the United Methodist Church sanctions gay marriage and gay clergy.

"My career had been taken away. A paycheck as I would say."

So the gay-rights crowd is getting all these speeches for free??? No way. This pays a LOT better than being a pastor in a backwater like Cassopolis MI.

Gospel of Inclusivity......which book in the Bible is that again?

It certainly not in Leviticus.

Maybe he should write to the new homosexual Secretary of the Army and ask for a commission as chaplain so he can ‘minister’ to the homosexuals that are now being recruited? And then he could officiate a military wedding of the SexArmy to his male wife?

The new homosexualist Secretary of the Army has never spent one single day in the military, much less the army. He’s been a bean-counter in the civil service. It’s a sham. (and a shame)

The United Methodist Church currently forbids homosexual pastors, marriages, etc., and says that homosexuality is ‘incompatible with Christian teaching’.

“Soul of the South” is accurate in saying that the forces of evil are close to toppling this denomination. The latest word is that it will not be at our denomination wide gathering in 2016. Word is that the elected delegates from the USA who are conservative will be just enough in numbers to join with the African delegates to keep the denomination’s current rules.

Pray that the anti-Christian forces get so upset that they agree to a denominational split. That would be the very best thing for us conservative Christians.

Does he think people in the Bay area are sympathetic to homosexuals?

Yeah, that's how he could get a paycheck.

The gaystapo doesn’t want a denominational split. They want to take over the entire denomination.

Notice how when these folks decide to rebel, they try to change the church’s position on homosexual behavior to one of accepting it - no concept of the Christian faith which follows Jesus Christ. Don’t seem to ever consider that Jesus tells us we must repent.

“My career had been taken away. A paycheck as I would say.”

So, there you have it. He considers ministry as a career rather than a vocation.

They’ll not change the African votes. The Africans have to worry about the Muslims using any homosexuality against them. No way they’ll support homosexuality.

OK, thanks. Interesting, that Africans may be the defenders of Biblical Christianity.
