American Airlines was grounded April 16, 2013 nationwide...
“No Fly List didnt work today?”
Something like that is exactly what I was thinking...
Years back, I worked as a contractor for UAL.
Some plumbers had a leak near the main maintenance computer.
A liquid detection system shut everything down.
Alarms, flashing lights...without that system a plane on the ground stays on the ground.
I often wandered if they kept the unfortunate plumbers in a cage under the building.
Usually a software problem. They can’t check passengers in on flights.

The new American Airlines, off to a fine start.
Another Windows automatic update.
Probably mainframe or related systems.
Air Traffic Control System runs on a server hosted in a bathroom in Denver, Colorado.
Who Knew??
Just Breaking... ALL American Flights grounded until at least 2:30PM EST.
Why are the airlines using Standard Time?
The 14-year old muslim kid flew from Dallas to Washington, D.C. with his “clock” to meet Obama?
Coincides with the opening of the new combined operations center for AA and USAir flights. Probably sabotage by an unhappy employee.
