Frankly, the GOP shouldn’t even acknowledge the “deal” with a vote. They should be screaming that they have the entire deal yet as is required by the Corker bill.
How stupid is McConnell? He’s the one who required 60 votes! That assures a Democrat win. On everything!!
Sure they are giving themselves cover but by doing so they are leaving the Dems to swing alone on this.
I am not a fan of McConnell or the crying drunk in the House. I believe them to be pitifully weak and useless. They care only about themselves and maintaining their position of power.
If McConnell had a pair he would invoke the nuclear option and vote the Iran agreement down, forcing obumbler to veto it.
McConnell could have stopped the clock on the deal since the side deals have not been given.
McConnell does not want to stop this agreement. He is playing around with perception—politics as usual for this old traitor.
Yeah, he wanted to make sure that nothing conservative got through. Recent history seems to indicate that he’d be free to change it again If he were serious.
The vote was 53-45...IOW, this is going to come up again, and again, and again during the 2016 campaign -- and the Demagogic Party is going to make breathtaking backtracking into a potential Olympic sport.
To which I ask, when have they taken any cover from Democrats or NOT GIVEN cover to democrats when it actually mattered?
