It doesn’t take very much c4 or simtex to make a pretty good explosion. A blasting cap is only about the size of a pencil eraser. If they didn’t call out the bomb squad, it was probably fairly obvious that it wasn’t dangerous, but just leaving something like that sitting around unattended would probably shut down the school for the rest of the day.
Thank you for the eye-bleach!
I'm glad I'm not alone.
Obama spoke stupidly.
What a dolt. I built a Heathkit clock when I was a kid. My dad built all kinds of stuff from that company along with many items for NASA and the military during his T.I. career. Never got an invitation to the White House.
The Panderer in Chief does it again.
I agree, but the idiots in this country will turn it around that any kid of ME decent or Muslim cannot be suspected of anything.
It’s not the idiots, it’s... well, to put it bluntly, the Satan worshipers.
LOL!!
What exactly is a “pencil case”?
Mine requires medication and alcohol.
Two things Obama has been good for - sales of guns and sales of alcohol
Yea, verily yea!
Granted it's been awhile since I set any charges, but I've never seen a blasting cap anywhere near that small.
Everyone knows that teachers are often idiots, and neither teachers nor police are likely to be qualified to understand electronics.
In any case, it doesn't matter if it is a clock or a computer. If there are no explosives (and how would a kid obtain these?), it's not a bomb.
“so he brings this in and, boom, he’s arrested,” was a subconscious use of terminology.
I wonder if the secret service will let his family’s vehicle in without a bomb check and if they will not have to be scanned when they walk in.
Were any of the heroes from the French train terrorist invited to the White House? How many people did they save?
“Fellow islamists....”
I LOL'ed when I read your comment but then I read this in the article:
One image that was posted is a revised version of the NASA logo the teen was wearing a NASA T-shirt when he was detained by police.
This is outrageous. A kid, who the locals (and who would know him better, the people in the area or some terrorist sympathizing -resident) suspected of planning a bomb hoax is rewarded for his rebelliousness (if not outright desire for terrorism) by being invited to the White House.
We might as well be hanging out a proverbial "Kick Me" sign for the whole world to see on our backs. (Except the sign says "Kill me", and the terrorists of the world are all too happy to oblige).
Honestly, is this going to increase or DEcrease local efforts to be vigilant? Sick. Absolutely sick. I wish I had a time machine to step right into Jan 21, 2017, to hopefully see a President Cruz. But anyone is favorable to this insanity.
I wonder if this visit will be chaperoned, or if obama and this boy will have some private time together.
If someone wanted to create a terror situation...a device like that would do it
If it was found unattended just about anywhere the bomb squad would be called.
The kid may well be innocent but it doesn’t negate the fact that what he did was not smart (considering today’s climate.)
If a kid made a fake gun in shop class he could get shot by the police carrying it around
This kid showed it to one teacher who told him not to show it around ..That teacher should have taken it away and given it back to the kid at the end of the day and explained why its not smart to carry that around
Exactly.
I guess the DHS will revamp their plea to something like: “If you see something, say something, unless it’s the result of some ME guy and/or Muslim or someone with a Muslim sounding name. In those cases such people will be invited to the White House for some congratulatory backslapping.”
Yep. That about sums up where we are now as a nation.
As I lamented this past 9/11: We have forgotten, as a nation. God help us!
