The Hewlett-Packard Company is no stranger to job cuts: During the Carly Fiorina era in the early aughts, the companys workforce was slashed by 30,000. Fast forward to the Meg Whitman years and the company is still thinning itself out: following job cut announcements in 2014 that amounted to a 55,000-person reduction in headcount, the tech giant said Tuesday that it expects to lose another 30,000 jobs as a part of its planned transformation.
In a meeting with analysts Tuesday, HP provided an updated look at its plans to split into two publicly traded companies HP Inc, which will focus on printing, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, which will focus on the cloud. Though it announced that the new Hewlett Packard Enterprise will see more than $50 billion in annual revenue and trade under the ticker HPE, the biggest part of the update was this: the company plans to cut 25,000 to 30,000 jobs in the enterprise transformation.
The slashed headcount should translate to $2.7 billion in annual savings.

Carly is a powerful leader. She can cut even more jobs remotely at a company that fired her. CARL-E, CARL-E, CARL-E!
Whats this the 4th article you’ve posted about her this morning. One more and you might have to register as a PAC.
Fiorina’s fault.
Great, maybe she would do the same thing with Government!!!!!
I buy most of my computers from HP. All their customer service reps are Indian. They also have disconnects between their databases. One says I have an extended warranty, the other does not.
Back in 2007, I switched from Dell to HP because of abysmal customer service (on Dell’s part). May be time to switch back.
I'll bet most of today's FR Fiorina posters never have been in a position to tell someone their job went away, much less had to make the decision to do layoffs.
Bush’s fault...........................
Press 2 for English............................
I don’t like her but cmon, argue on the issues. HP is still around and is still a good company. She couldn’t have done that badly.
Congratulations. You finally posted an article that’s not old news.
Another way of looking at it... HP was strong enough to have survived her incompetence and backstabbing.
They even threw money at her to get her to leave.
At that time, HP stated they had almost 400,000 jobs going WORLDWIDE. Just for perspective.
For the record, not seeing the % reduction, I looked it up:
A 10% cut, 30,000 of 302,000
Kinda ironic that the Trumpbots make excuses for how many of his companies have gone bankrupt but criticize her.
Shocking even more is that the ny slimes is behind this. They only do this to people they fear politically.
IMO her and Trump are much the same. Both north east liberals who call themselves Republicans but certainly aren’t conservative.
I know a guy in Local 2222 who says that DEC would still be in business if they had a Union. Oh, great. Just what HP needs. A Warehouse full of unsold VAX’s. Just like Ken Olsen wanted and Carly was against.
DEC was run by engineers who allowed their technology to be stolen by Intel. They had faster chips than Intel.
