McConnell to GOP Populist Base: Let Business Groups Win in 2017
http://www.breitbart.com/ ^ | 09/14/15 | Neil Munro

The GOP’s populist base can help win big battles for the party’s business donors in 2017, if it just shuts up for the next few months, GOP leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)suggested in a low-drama interview with Politico. McConnell offered nothing to the party’s populist base, except finger-wagging. The pro-life push to transfer funding away from abortion-giant Planned Parenthood “is an exercise in futility… that’s not going to happen until you have a president who has a similar view,” he said. McConnell didn’t offer any opposition to President Barack Obama’s effort to amnesty millions of illegal immigrants, or his promise to bring in at least 10,000 Muslim refugees from Syria late this year. The amnesty issue split the party from November 2014 to March 2015, ...

If Trump suggests that he will force a positive change in the current pathetic Republican congressional leadership he will be easily elected. People need to hear this and he needs to say it — for the good of the country. Boehner and McConnell are weak and compromised; they and their lieutenants must be removed from their positions. The sooner the better.

GOP Populist Base to McConnell: No. And Cranial-Rectal Inversion is treatable, although there are side effects. Some men have actually been known to grow a pair during the course of HUB-D (Head Up Butt Disease) treatments.

Agreed. The rinos are traitors to the Conservatives and Christians of America and deserve to be deported and deprived of American citizenship.

Amen to that! I feel like Harry Reed and Nancy Pelosi still control the Congress, cause they do.

And when we have the White House, it will be, “We don’t have big enough House and Senate majorities.”

In 2001- that's not gonna happen until we break the tie in the Senate. (Win Senate 2003)

In 2003- that's not gonna happen until we get more votes in the Senate.. (more seats won in 2004)

In 2005- that's not gonna happen until we break the filibusterer... (Lose Congress 2006, President 2008).

2009- Can't stop ObamaCare with Fillibuster.. (Scott Brown wins in Mass special elections.

2010- Can defund ObamaCare without Congress.. (Win House in 2010, win senate, in 2014)

2015- Can't Stop Obama without veto proof Majorities!!

2015- Why doesn't the base trust us????

The sooner that Senator Myrtle the Turtle assumes room temperature the better. An utterly worthless POS. Is there ANYTHING that would be really different if Filthy Harry Reid were still the SML?

Bueller? Bueller?

Agreed on that, Trump needs to continue his attack on the President and his rino Congressional allies as they are in cahoots. McConnel and Boehner are democrat leaders.

Boehner and McConnell are weak and compromised;

They are compromised but they certainly aren't weak, they just have a different agenda than most Freepers.

McConnell's interview with Politico should have gone like this...................

McConnell: Blah, blah, excuse, excuse, wait until, blah, blah, nothing we can do about it at this time, yada, yada........

Politico Reporter: Are you frickin serious? You really want that gasoline tossed on your lit match base? My goodness you are intellectually limited.

Wait a minute...I believe he is supposed to be responsive o the Will of the People, not lecturing the people to do his will.

McConnell is a lifelong politician—literally right out of law school he began as an aid. He has the belief that he knows best because he has had no contact with the real world for over 50 years.

The term "populist base," tends to be both dismissive & grossly misleading. It has, in my lifetime, been applied to a succession of Conservative mavericks, who challenged entrenched abusers of public trust, as a dismissive term; never with any real explanation. That someone emerges as very popular with the public, despite walking on the toes of the more entrenched politicians, is something to notice; but surely one can find a more descriptive term than "populist."

Maybe "iconoclast," like the Patriarch Abraham, would work.

Trump was indeed on the mark with his description of those Republicans who choose to rationalize appeasement of office holders, who mean to destroy our heritage.
