No problem. Selling all that stuff would probably sustain the world's poor for about two weeks - then what? Are YOU then ready to contribute?

Your argument is actually very weak. If the Vatican liquidated all its assets, and gave them to the poor, those assets would be used up in a week or two - divided among a billion - and nothing fundamentally would change. By the way, how much have YOU contributed to the world’s poor? I would guess, NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
