ACTUALLY, IT WAS THE PRESIDENT WHO THREATENED IT .. BY SAYING IF WE TRY TO DEFUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD, HE WILL VETO IT AND SHUT DOWN THE GOVT.

Low-information Senator Warren is another good example why the 17th Amendment should never have been ratified.
Since the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for anything like Planned Parenthood, what’s there to fight over concerning federal funding for Planned Parenthood?
The ill-conceived 17th Amendment needs to disappear, and corrupt senators and the unconstitutional federal funding for things like Planned Parenthood that they voted for along with it.
