It was just absurd having to deal with unions in the Army.

If I wanted to move a coffee pot from one room to another I had to go through the bargaining unit first.

My buddy was the base XO at a joint reserve base and said the same thing. He found the unions made doing the business of the base difficult.

As a non-Union federal employee I see the negative effects, as well. Our agency is constantly restrained from making labor decisions in favor of employees because of the threat of a lawsuit from our "organized" sister agencies. You also see the outrageous accounts of fired employees getting their jobs back through arbitration, with back pay. It insane.
